That was a poor play by Reddick, but one play didn’t cost them the game. Lewis is MIA. And what about the two free-throws VC missed at the line in the clutch?

JJ Redick didn’t cost them the game. It was Vince Carter. If he made those two free throws, they would’ve still had a chance to win. So you Orlando fans, thank Vince Carter for y’all loss.

cost them the game?..really…so i guess his 16points did nothing to help them huh?..vince misng both free throws did nothing either. you do know that even if he didnt do what he did the magic would still have to hit a three to tie it. yeah youre right its all j.j’s fault

My high school coach always said.. Guys, you CAN’T look at the last play of the game and say, “that’s why we lost”

Maybe it was a couple of missed free throws in the 1st.
Maybe some forced shots in the 2nd
Maybe an unforced turnover in the 3rd.

you can’t look at the last play and say that’s why we lost.

Vince Carter and the word clutch has never met. He’s always been all flash and no substance at winning time.

jeez, i guess i cant joke with u guys, heh. obviously jj didnt single handedly lose them the game. i mean, i know that, and u bball fans just took that so literal, cause ifi could say he lost them the game i can say dwight did, too by missing a couple of free throws. jeez, what im saying is, he didnt help them, and gave them very little chance to win. hop off, all of u lol

Blame Van Gundy. He could’ve called time out too. If you watch the replay, you’ll notice that nobody called timeout after Reddick grabbed the rebound lol. Just another mental lapse by the team.

Rashard Lewis is officially the most overpaid player in the game. Making 20 million a year, and hes not even the 4th best player on his team. Even tho Reddick screwed up in the last seconds, I cant put the blame on him for the lost, because hes picked up the slack in scoring in this series, which is suppose to be something Rashard should be providing.

Maybe it was good defense by the Celtics.. I always learned that after a rebound and it’s a close game, you’re not suppose to call and timeout because you give the defense a chance to get ready. As Reddick ran up the court, most teams would scramble and try to do anything they can to stop the ball and stop the other players. The Celtics, full of veterans, had who I think was davis and allen trap at the corner where reddick saw no opening and HAD to call a timeout.

anyone else think the inbound rule is stupid, come on, he gets a rebound and calls a time out and they get the ball at half court, but if he takes one dribble and calls a timeout they get the ball where the time out was called. That’s ridiculous and needs to be changed, give them the ball where the time out was called.

Van Gundy’s strategy of constantly feeding Howard in the low post is flawed. I learned many years ago that depending upon one man destroys the flow of your offense. While Howard was putting a lot of pressure on the Celtics defense, the other 4 guys were standing around watching him. If you observed what happened when Howard missed, there were no Orlando players on the offensive glass to follow up. They were doing what I mentioned above, standing around watching Howard do his thing.

Any smart coach knows the offense must develop a flow with crisp ball movement, getting everyone involved in the offense. Doc Rivers is doing a much better job than Van Gundy because you never know who’s going to score when Boston has the ball. Their passes are crisp and guys are moving without the ball.

Putting aside Van Gundy’s flawed strategy you also have to realize that other than JJ Reddick, nobody else is stepping up to help Howard carry the load on offense. JJ is the only guy who seems to be aggressive, constantly driving to the hoop.

Place the blame somewhere else. By the way, the replay showed Reddick calling time with approximately 6 seconds remaining. Why didn’t the refs put more time back on the clock?

he didnt cost them the game. He isnt the only 1 who can call timeout. And even tho dwight and his teammates acted like they were jus sooo mad u didnt see any of them tellin jj 2 call timeout did u? no. they jus let jj take the blame

I somewhat agree with what your saying. Even tho its a luxury to have a low post player such as Dwight, it does disrupt the rhythm of the offense. Dwight’s problem is his offensive IQ, once he gets the ball, he doesnt look to pass out of the double team or if hes not in the good position to take the shot, he takes the shot regardless. Thats what made Hakeem Olajuwon im my opinion the greatest Center in the NBA, because not only is he a threat to score down the post, hes also great at finding open players for 3 pointers.
