CameronCrazy11ParticipantMy last year of playing organized ball was the summer of my sophomore year on our JV team. After my sophomore cross country season, I decided to focus on running since I would most likely be riding the bench for most of the season. I was already varsity in cross country and track as a freshman so I knew that would ultimately be my sport (I run for a D2 school now), but I still love playing every now and then.
A couple months ago I played with some football/track guys at my school who used to play in high school and a lot of them were calling me Steve Nash haha.

rileymcshea3ParticipantI’ll be a junior on the Varsity team next year at Mansfield high school in Texas. We play in the hardest district in the state with Desoto(who beat Jabari Parker and Simeon last year on national TV) and South Grand Praire(lost in the state championchip to the Harrison Twins)

kingcam859ParticipantOut of high school I went juco got hurt and still had looks from eastern kentucky uni, uni of chicago Illinois and texas corpus christi. Nothing panned out so I sat out a year before giving naia a try where I’m currently still attending. I played high school on the same team with shelvin mack who plays on the hawks and I know darius miller who plays for hornets

machu46ParticipantI was one of the top 3 point shooters in the state of New York based on 3PT%. I shot 55% from 3 in high school. Unfortunately, while AAU coaches were always wowed by my ball-handling and passing abilities in drill settings, I never put it together in actual games until I got to college and started playing intramurals, so I never made it anywhere really. I’m pretty confident that I’m good enough to walk on at Syracuse now, but I’m too competitive to slave away and have no social life to sit the bench, so I decided to just focus on putting myself in a position to get a good job when I graduate and just enjoy the rest of my college experience.

machu46ParticipantAre you guys negging this because you don’t buy it? If you’ve seen Syracuse’s walk-ons play, you’d know it really isn’t that unbelievable. They all play at the gym with us. They’re cool guys, and they’re pretty good, but there’s a gigantic drop-off from the scholarship players to the walk-ons.

chrsw003ParticipantI played in Ga region 5A so we played good competition and played the Wheelers, Miltons, Norcross, Centennial, so a bunch of guys playin in college and getting drafted the past couple years. We had a really good team but never made the state playoffs bc our region was so damn good. My freshman year J.J Hickson dropped 46 on us lol. But I was a shooter and had the 4th most 3s in Ga hs bball history lol. Had some places to play in college but they were smaller schools so I decided to just go to school at a bigger school. Miss the hell out of it. Still play alot at school just for fun and exercise, have a reputation at the rec center haha. Intramural game this past year had 63 on 21 3s haha. Never said the other team was good though lol

Seamo15ParticipantI started for my senior team in highschool. Unfortunately as i live in rural Australia that’s not much of a claim. I get crazy jealous of all the pathways and attentioned placed on American highschool ball. We would play one day a year competitively as a school; if you wanted to actually get anywhere you had to make your own team and play domestic competitions.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI’m currently playing in the equivalent of AAU in Australia, got an invite to the Australian under 16’s team but broke my ankle two weeks before try outs, only just getting off crutches now. Looking at a couple different schools in ‘Merica to move to, to get some experience in the life style and what not. I grew up close by to Ben Simmons, and a friend of mine is best mates with him. I’m a skinny but tall wing, Kevin Durant sort of body. 6’6″ 83 kilos(bout 190 pounds). Played mostly center when i was younger because i had little to no actual ability and was just tall, but when I was about 12 I started really getting into ball and now I play the 2/3. Hoping to make it to a D-1 college, but the only American schools ive talked to is a high school in Arizona.

druneave3ParticipantSports, mainly basketball, along with food and women, are my 3 passions in life. However, I only played organized ball until I was in 8th grade. I did start over the legally-blind kid though! The reason I didn’t play in HS was because from K-8th grade I went to a private school with 13 kids in my class. My freshman year I switched to public school where there was 500 kids in my class. The school I went to has a great basketball tradition and I was intimidated by the talent, and thought that even if I was able to make the team, I would never play. I had played soccer since I was 5 so I continued on that route, but it is the biggest regret of my life, even if I had just been the team manager. I am currently in the process of starting my own business as a basketball trainer specializing in teaching shooting principles and creating efficient scorers. I feel as if I lost so much from not playing or simply being around the game by not playing in high school. I love love love the game of basketball.

JoeWolf1High School Starter. Played in a couple AAU tournaments, but was not a regular on the circut. I was kind of a 3rd option/glue guy, but I was ranked in the league in blocked shots.A couple walk on opportunities for NAIA schools. Like Dwight, the market for 6’2” combo forwards isn’t exactly a booming one, lol. I mainly got one of those offers because they wanted me for track and they said I could walk on too.

PTBasketballParticipantJust got done with my u-18’s AAU team, but haven’t played in the last 3months due to injury, had to play the 1 trhough the 5 because our post players were some bitches, I play best at the 2, being 6’5, long arms but only around 160lbs(73kilos). I have an offer to play for a 2nd divison team here in Portugal, spending time between the senior team and their U-20’s playing the 1 and the 2 according to the coach, still don’t know if I’ll accept it due to still having one more year of highschool (Im’ 17 now) and working at the same time.

Leonard WashingtonParticipantStarted 3 out of 4 years in highschool. Scored over 1000 points (most came during my jr and sr year since I wasn’t the primary option earlier on). And played a year of NAIA. College ball was a good experience, even though it was against lower level competition, but my body couldn’t take the wear and tear and physical grind of the college game. I don’t see how people like Lebron and MJ went basically there whole careers (thus far for Lebron) without having any major injuries (except when MJ got injured i think during his rookie year).

LipstickParticipantI played during my junior and senior years of high school. Led the team in scoring each year with a whopping 12 points per game, which is weird since we ended up 20-9 my senior year at least. I then played on a 19U AAU team with the best players around the local area and since I’m in Minnesota and in the class of ’07, I played against Cole Aldrich’s squad. The refs kissed his ass all game. I’ve despised him ever since.
Then I tried to walk on to the D2 college I went to, but ruptured my left ankle my sophomore year. Recovering was fine, but I just spent the rest of my basketball-related time in college creating a glorified intramural squad. We won five straight titles, which is the one of the dumbest brags ever (maybe they’ll hang a pair of spandex in the rafters in the team’s honor?) but it was a really fun time, way better than hanging around the college basketball squad which was composed mostly of douchebags convinced they’re going to the NBA. College jocks, I guess.
I stopped playing about nine months ago because of graduation looming and everything from the knees down aches when playing. I don’t even think about playing anymore, which is weird since I absolutely love the game and played at gyms five times per week through high school and college (about nine years). It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever moved on from. I still don’t get it, but it is what it is. Maybe I’ll get the itch to play when winter comes back around, who knows.

LipstickParticipantI played during my junior and senior years of high school. Led the team in scoring each year with a whopping 12 points per game, which is weird since we ended up 20-9 my senior year at least.
