unbelievaParticipantJust kind of curious where everyone thinks PJ will get drafted. Currently this site has him going near the top of the 2nd round, right around where glen rice jr. went last year. I honestly think he’ll go closer to where his former unc teammate Reggie Bullock went last year. Somewhere later in the first round. I like his skill set and size for a 2 guard. He’ll never be a star but he will be a solid player who can knock down shots.
The one concern is obviously his off court issues resulting in him losing his ncaa eligibility. One thing that stood out to me In the article posted on the main page is he’s quoted saying something along the lines of "they took my college career from me". Maybe I’m over thinking but the fact that he isn’t taking ownership for costing himself his chance to play in college shows his level of maturity.

Ebown5ParticipantGood point on him not taking responsibility for his actions. I think that character is a skill/ability that should be evaluated just like ball handling and shooting. There are different types of character problems, some of which are more damaging than others. If he was an ideal teamate who got in trouble with the law then that would be different than a guy that can’t accept accountibility. I’m not sure which one he is, but he scares me. If he had Jabari Parker’s character he might go in the 10-14 range, but since he doesn’t then I’m not sure where he gets picked. The problem ultimately is that there are a lot of teams that probably wouldn’t draft him anywhere so he just won’t be an option for them.
My guess is that he makes it to the second round, and if the Sixers get him with the second pick of the second round that I would love it. If we took him with the Pelicans pick I would be worried no matter how talented he is.

ncballerUNC fan here. Talent wise he should be lottery in this draft. I would like that quote cited. On instagram yesterday he posted a pic of himself in a UNC jersey talking about regretting his decisions and what he would do to put on the uni again. He has stayed out of trouble since the incidents now and is just destroying people in the d-league. Roy said he was the most dominate player that he had ever coached in practice. That’s saying something considering the fact he’s coached the likes of Paul Pierce etc. And his character issues have been over blown. The weed and gun were not his as the charges were dropped. He forgot his drivers liscense showed that, got that charge dropped. The reason he isn’t eligible is because someone rented him a car. He would be a steal in the second round.

SpacegrassParticipantthe quote is in the cnnsi article from today. But the context isnt clear on who "they" is. He then goes on to say nothing but positives about his teammates and unc. It may have been him recalling the emotional brick that hit him when Roy told him he was done. I dont think he ever thought he screwed up that bad until the reality of it hit him.

TarHeelRavenParticipantImagine what UNC would be like.with hairston in the backcourt this year with Marcus Paige.instead.of.McDonald. I think UNC would’ve had one of.if not the.most dominant.backcourt in the country. They could have had 2 all Americans. Hairston was a jerk over the summer and he paid the consequences for it. He regrets it now but.maybe he should’ve thought about it.when he was speeding and.acting.like.a.moron. I.don’t feel sorry for.him at all. He.got.what he deserved.

ncballerUNC would be a top 7 team in contention for a number 1 seed right now with him.

omgitscoreyParticipantIf he played out the year he’d be a lottery pick.
I expect him to be in the 15-25 range, but a lot believe he’ll slip out of the first. I dont see it. He’s an elite shooter and he’s showing he can play against grown men. He has a skill that’s transferrable at every level, and it’s something that every team needs. He’s got size, and he’s got a skill that hes VERY good at.
Imagine a team like the Heat picking him up with Wade getting older and Allen on the way out? Great fit.
