Jackson is a freak of nature athlete but hes 5’9” at tops and has a tendency to over-penetrate… plus, hes not a true point guard at all.. I mean if Nate Rob can stick, I guess Jackson deserves a fair opportunity

For him to be a JUCO transfer he did EXTREMLY WELL his first year at Baylor it takes most JUCO transfers a year to learn the system and the rigors of D1 ball.

Jackson led Baylor to the Elite 8 his first year and was the best player for them.

He will improve next year and come back even better and will be in the NBA.

Pierre Jackson at best is another Nate Robinson. I watched (almost) every baylor game this year and saw both the good and the terrible of Pierre Jackson. First of, he is extremely undersized at 5’9. Pierre Jackson is a good scorer and shooter. he is EXTREMELY quick with the ball and has the ability to just burst past a defender. He can penetrate and get to the rim easily which allows him to create shots for himself and his team. HOWEVER, he is not a true point guards, often times he chooses to pull-up and take bad shots, that although he makes occasionally, you would still want better shot selection from him as many times he wastes possessions. He has a good court vision however he doesn’t maximize it. He is a shoot first guard that would be a very good sparkplug off the bench. he has a knack for hitting big shots, and wants to take it. Overall he would be a good sparkplug/scorer off the bench however don’t expect him to be starting for any NBA team anytime soon. He is an average defender but due to his quickness gets a number of steals. If he played more as a true point guard and can focus on distributing the ball more he would be better. With a very good frontline in baylor, he rarely passed the ball to the bigmen and minimized their effectiveness. He is also very ball dominant.

I think jackson may cut his way into the league somehow. If baylor goes deep into the post season next year and he improves as a PG. He can be a 1st round pick. Johnny Flynn and Ty lawson were frist rounders so why not him.

Hated his shot selection and was not good at running a O. Plays hard all the time and has a never say die attitude. Not as consistent as a shooter as Nate. Wont make it unless he changes his whole game and I don’t see it. I actually like this kid a lot too. Not a Pro currently IMO.

here is what wolf meant when he said he doesn’t display true elite athleticism in games

go to the last video in the 5:30 mark. THAT SHOULDVE BEEN A DUNK!!!!!! but there was a lil contact and he shied away

go to the second video at the 1:04 and 3:00 mark. if he would’ve had elite athleticism these wouldve been dunks.

     rudy gay would’ve dunked these.

and notice how in all of his alley oops, the ball (the pass) was always close the rim. as opposed to a couple of quincy acy throw downs
