ericw2013ParticipantIve been hearing that Philly is below the min. in cap space so they are paying the diference between their roster. Of thats true, wouldnt you take some bad contract if they throw a good 1st rnd pick?
For instance, wouldnt you trade Perkins with the 2014 1st to Philly for lets say Daniel Orton (1MM a year, it works after Jan 15th capwise at least according to the ESPN Trade Machine)?
Or Ty. Prince (and his 15MM over this year and the next) with their 1st rnd pick? This year salary is practically paid, and next year you have the 7,7M of his expiring contract as a trade chip.
Which other player would you like to get rid of?

Jayhawks2011ParticipantThe thunder could get rid of Perkins by just amnesteying him, so I don’t think they should be expected to basically give away him.
Ty Prince is a maybe if he could be bought out after this year, but you arent going to get anything but a pretty protected probably top 20 for him.

ericw2013ParticipantHowever, it would cost OKC the complete sallary and they are not leting him go paying him. The pick will be in the low 5, so its worth it.
With Prince perhaps they can buy him out, but the main thing is that the 1st 7 mill of his contract are "free", because they are already paying about the same money to the rest of the roster because they are bellow the floor. And I think 7,5MM for a first round pick if you are Philly is worth it.

Mr. HookShotParticipantPerkins, (Perry Jones III) and a first for Hawes maybe an option? Sure, Philly would lose a good player in Hawes but he is not in their long term plans anyway. OKC on the other hand get a good center who can shoot, someone who should be a nice fit next to the shotblocking of Ibaka.
