Question for everyone on something other than Kawhi’s decision lol:

The pelicans are definitely going to be a more appealing team to watch this year due to their fast paced offense.

What does everyone see the Pelicans ceiling and floor for this upcoming season being? Or in other words what record do people see them having and what are the possibilities that they make/sniff the playoffs this year?

    and

Which team out of the two, does everyone see having the best right now and best future?

Also going to say it now NBA needs to make a NOLA vs Lakers opening night game. As there is bound to be some fire works. Either via a physical game or trash talking, it would be so funny to see Lonzo trash talk Kuz and lock up Lebron all game lol

With Lonzo running the show I see this team being a top 5 team in the west

Really hinges on the lineup they go with and if they are done making moves. They have an interesting group of players. Ball, Holiday, Ingram, Alexander-Walker, Reddick, Zion, Hayes, Woods, Okafor, Hart, Stan Johnson. I also noticed that Zion is listed as a SF on ESPN.com. So does that mean that Ingram slides to the 2? Does that make BI the 6th man? Do they start Reddick to strech the floor? What does that mean for Lonzo? Is Lonzo starting? Do they trade Holliday? So lots of questions that would affect their strategy with their starting unit. Their floor is lottery team; ceiling is 9th seed in a tough western conference. In any case they will be fun to watch. I really like what they did in the draft and I just hope they focus on playing and developing their young guys.

it means…ESPN was wrong.  no way zion is playing 3 at 285 lbs and stanley johnson did not have an offer extended so he’s an unrestricted free agent.

i think the team is going to be like this…

ball, holiday, ingram, zion, hayes – this team runs like crazy…

moore/NAW, redick, hart, wood, okafor – think second unit will be a mix of the following.  these guys all give the NOP scoring threats.  okafor will come in and do work in the low post.  wood can run and stretch.  hart/redick/moore can all knock down shots.  NAW may end up being a combo and primary ball handler on second unit.

They got Favors to be their starting center now. I really like the makeup of this team. Deep roster of guys who play hard. Lots of young guys trying to prove themselves too.

I’m not sure how Favors fits into the fast pace tempo NO is trying to play.

LeBron has easily been 280 playing the 3, I dont see why 5lbs is such a big deal especially with an explosive athlete. Why not try Zion at the SF to see if it can stick, no harm in it.

Basically a range between 35 and 45 games. And that is without Zion being the guy Dick Vitale thinks he is.

Likely outcome: 40-42.  I think a few semi-long losing streaks puts them out of playoff contention.

If Zion is an All-star level guy then 45 would be their ceiling basically.

JJ Redick  is going to start alongside Jrue.  Lonzo off the benches won’t be running anything

I really liked what he Pelicans have done, but it almost seems like they have brought in too many guys that will want, and deserve, minutes. For the guards, who do you start with Holiday. Ball or Redick? Both bring totally different things to the game. I figure they go Holiday and Redick with Ball and Hart off the bench. You also now have Hayes, a high draft pick, behind Favors who will want to see minutes. Could minutes look like:

    Holiday: 35 min

    Redick: 30 min

    Ingram: 30 min

    Williamson: 35 min

    Favors: 30 m

    Ball: 30 min

    Hart: 10

    Miller: 14 min

    Williams: 10 min

    Hayes: 18 min

    NAW: 5 min

    Okafor: 5 min

If I were New Orleans, I would demand Kuzma in return for agreeing to push back the trade.

Don’t see how it could backfire … maybe the Lakers do it. If they don’t, Kawhi probably resigns in Toronto or joins Clippers. Then Lakers are even more desperate to acquire AD.

Makes no sense. Why would Kawhi sign to the Lakers this late? That means he forfeits $11 million for no reason.
