Lost a lot of respect for George today.  Made some idiotic and insensitive comments about the Ray Rice situation on twitter.  He clearly doesn’t have a brain, and Larry Bird quickly told him to remove the ignorant comments.  Felt bad for George after his injury, but his stupidity he’s shown today has me feeling less sorry for his dumbass.

For those of you who don’t know what he said, google it.

    Paul George’s comments were stupid.

Domestic abuse is domestic abuse and it should NOT be tolerated whatsoever.

Yeah George has an issue with wise choices. He’s too busy getting strippers pregnant and sending out dong pictures.

Wrong word choice, but his intent was right. The media is blowing this up for their ratings it isnt even about the Rice Family anymore, and the fact that its landed on this site is beyond me. It isn’t our business nor family. I gain respected for PG for being 100% instead of trying to side with media. Love can be fierce and lead that, many women will tell you the same. Yes domestic is wrong, but it happens bottom line. I dont condone it but it happens Ray Rice shouldn’t have thrown a haymaker, but love and alcohol will make you do some stupid things. She still loves him.

but on lighter note watch james harden get crossed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFUdMBEXvXY

Did he say he is cool with men hitting women ?

I don’t believe Ray Rice should have loss his job either. It’s a domestic legal issue not football. If he was to lose his job from jail time for his actions thats a different story, but that isn’t the case.

I’m having an issue with the media still covering the recording and story, when the couple doesn’t want to see it anymore. The story would have died down, but Roger Goodell looks like has been caught lying and is looking somewhat perhaps like a fraud because how stern he has been on everything else.

Let this couple live and figure it out.

We all agree that it’s not OK to hit women. We all agree that Rice should not have hit a woman even if she hit him first. We further agree that professional organizations need to rid themselves of bad actors, such as athletes that hit women.

On the other hand, this poor woman was abused physically, something she and Ray are working out (hopefully). Now, in addition to that very real life problem, she is faced with the problem that her husband is now unemployed and hated by society. As a result I look at this situation and understand the NFL’s decision. However, I still feel bad for the Rice family, especially his wife. Every decision has really resulted in hurting her, which is unfortunate.

I think a lot of stupid comments about this situation stem from people seeing the lack of justice to individuals involved without considering all of the pieces of the puzzle. That’s what I think George did. I don’t think he hates women or condones abusing them. I think he just made a stupid choice to make a statement w/o fully understanding the reasoning and the implications.

Also, I’m one of those people that believes people can change. I really believe Rice can turn it around and I hope he does. I’m not OK with what Rice did, but I’m genuinely cheering for him.

This is about to be a long ass post

Idiotic? Insenstive?? It seems like America is becoming a place you can’t have an opinion different from others without having to backtrack it and aplogize.

First off, he said lets focus on police violence as much as we’re focusing on the personal life of Ray Rice. More people are worrying about Ray Rice’s life than the slaying of Michael Brown, you don’t see that as a problem? Since people like to read one thing and focus on it more than anything, I AM IN NO WAY SAYING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT A BIG DEAL, because I understand there are cowards out there who just senselessly beat their spouse. But everyone is focusing on one case that has been resolved in behalf of both parties that have both apologized for their part and they’re ultimately paying the price for one incident.

Secondly, he says "If she’s not tripping he’s not tripping" IS THAT WRONG? Cases of domestic violence much severe go on everyday, where are you guys when they happen? Everyone wants to act like they’re the biggest abusive relationship activist when a famous man is convicted of it. The people in the situation have both acknowledged they had mishandled the situation, and they both have played a huge price for it, so why is everyone worried about THEM? Because if we’re being real and "keepin it hunnit" like George said, this isn’t about domestic violence anymore, people are really just using this as an excuse to call NFL players thugs and keep tabs on someone else’s life. If she herself has accepted it and handled it, let their case go. Lets go focus on what we can do to stop domestic violence, and stop crying over virtually spilled milk.

Third, his final tweet says "If she hits you first you obviously aren’t beating her, homie made a bad choice", although I’m not sure this applies to Ray Rice case because I didn’t see her in the video hit him first, is this really wrong? The main argument people are conveying is that if he hit her like that once he’s done it before. I highly, highly, verrrrrry highly, doubt if he’s hit her in the past, she wouldn’t of backhanded him or attempted to charge towards him. Ray Rice made a disgusting choice, never should a man lay his hands on a woman like he did, it was horrible, and just a punks move. But everyone makes mistakes, his wife acknowledges that, her family acknowledges that and all is forgiven. Once again, lets go do something to atleast reduce domestic violence cases and stop focusing on just one that has been resolved, because while you’re still complaining about Ray Rice’s incident, someone in America is walking free for the same offence.

If you don’t want to read all that here’s a summary: It’s their life, they fixed their problem and are both facing a huge price from a one night mistake, the reason we focus on domestic violence is because we are seeing a victim get abused. She was the victim, and you’re still punishing her by trashing her husband and following their life. Let’s take this same attention we’re giving Ray Rice and give that attention to ways we could lobby so we can get tougher laws against domestic violence and prevent more of these incidents.

If you read this, I really hope you think before you respond and think about how Janay Rice is feeling about this whole situation.

As cops inform you as you’re arrested, “You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law” or court of public opinion. Everyone needs to understand it’s open season on what the public wants to chew on. Mob Rule is in effect. It’s good for ratings. Free speech isn’t free right now especially on ESPN.

I may come off as biased, but I didn’t see a problem with what Paul George tweeted. He just wasn’t PC and was tweeting in slang. People acted like he defended or promoted DV. He said several times he didn’t condone it and that hitting a woman is wrong… That Ray Rice made a bad choice. He tweeted let’s focus on police violence/police brutality as much as we’re focusing on Ray Rice. There’s a video going around right now where a cop is excessively beating a woman senseless on a highway right in front of passing cars to see. Ray Rice loses his career while this officer probably got a desk job. Janay Rice chose to marry Ray Rice, and the two clearly are looking to work through this together through therapy/counseling, etc. George is right… What more is there to see here? Keep it moving. Janay Rice’s tweet suggest she feels the same.

What Ray Rice did was a horrible/pathetic mistake and he should be punished, which he was. He was punished by the judicial system and he was punished (THREE times… 2 games, then contract terminated and then suspended indefinitely, when the current policy only calls for 6 games for a first offense) by the NFL. I think it’s time for people to stop making it like this man is an ax murderer. As a lot of Ravens fans who still support him were saying last night before the game… The media is trying to rip this man and his family apart for ratings.

My prayers go out to the Rice family.

As someone who is going through a domestic violence case i’m gonna lay my situation out on the line.  The man is always made out to be this ike turner woman abuser when in ALOT of the situations this is simply not the case.  If a couple are having a disagreement or a loud argument and say someone else hears it and calls the police and he say grabs her arm or something the police will take an inch and go a MILE with it.  blow it up take it to court, charge him, make him take anger mangement classes, threaten jail time even if it is as mild as what i’ve described and she doesn’t want to press charges.  Even if there’s no history of violence between them at all.

With that said in my situtation I am not innocent and should’ve made better decisions.  In march 2012 I came over to her apartment to take my daughter’s mother to work.  I wasnt working at the time, she had had a party the night before and everything was a mess and there were beer bottles everywhere.  I was waiting on her to get ready on her couch and she comes out cussing at me telling me i’m a worthless piece of shit who doesn’t do anything all the while the first couple of years of our daughters life i did all the working and she never had a job.  This was the first time the tables were turned and we agreed upon it, i was gonna go to school to further my career in health care and watch the kids (one of which she said was mine but he turned out not to be) while she worked.  To make a long story short after she cussed at me I thought about getting mad but decided to ignore her and went in the kitches and started washing the dishes she also was bitching about.  Then she comes in there and says youre doing it wrong you fucking bitch you can’t even wash dishes right.  Then i tell her to get out of my face and wave my hand in like a shooing motion towards her face and she hits me in my chest and says "don’t fuckin put your hands on me bitch" that’s when i get mad like "bitch i ain’t even put my hands on you for real" and the we started really cussin each other out…..in the midst of it i grab her, then she kicks me in balls the i push her down and kick her in her knee twice.  Someone else hears us and calls the police.  When they knock on the door we both shut up and wait until they go away.  Once they do, I take her to work.

While at work she calls me and tells me the knee i kicked her in is starting to hurt and she might leave to go to the hospital.  I say somethin along the lines of I didn’t know i kicked u that hard if you feel you gotta leave you should go.  She has the ambulance come get her from work, she goes to the hospital tells them what happend but that she doesn’t want to press charges.  The state does anyway.  about a month later I go to jail and have to bail out and have been going to court for this ever since.  This happened in March 2012….i have a court date for this case this month in a couple weeks just to let them know i’m taking these 16 weeks of domestic violence classes they want me to take.   They worked out a deal with me where this wont be on my background after I finish these classes so I can work in healthcare again but I’ll believe it when I see it.  I’m not some ike turner woman beater there was plenty of times before this incident where it could’ve gone there and i was able to ignore it and i lost my cool that one time because of what SHE was doing and I’m the bad guy.  My life gets ruined and NOTHING happened to her even though she started and i tried to diffuse the situation.  I haven’t done anything like that since then and never will.

I’m not defending domestic violence…..I just see people shit talking shit about a guy for going through it and alot of times the situation is much milder than even mine was.  A friend of mine is going through a domestic now where they argued he broke a window at his apartment but he didn’t put his hands on her at all and they’re trying to throw the book at him because of other stuff that’s on his background.  Her sisters were around and they just wanted the police to "scare him" or whatever but now it’s him and her against the law trying to get the charges dropped and they wont.
