Anyone notice he’s been struggling for quite some time now? He came off a great postseason and opened this year up on a tear but since 2014 hit his efficiency has dropped considerably (7.3 points on FG, 5.7 points on 3pt, ast/to ratio from 1.40 to 1.03) and over the last month has been even worse (although he is 44/44 from the line this month, very impressive). I think early in the season many of us started placing him among the top 5 players in the NBA. Now I’m starting to think he’s closer to 10. I added the records not to put full blame on George but to show that his slump has impacted the team. What do you guys think?

    Before 2014 (29 games):

    24 ppg 5.9 rpg 3.5 apg 2 spg 2.5 topg 47.4 FG% 40.1 3pt% 85.2 FT%

    Record 24-5 (82.8%)

    Since 2014 began (25 games):

    20.9 ppg 7 rpg 3.3 apg 1.7 spg 3.2 topg 40.1 FG% 34.4 3pt% 87.8 FT%

    Record 17-8 (68%)

Its only natural. But its never how you start, its how you finish. And he just better make sure his shot is falling by the time Miami comes around in the playoffs. The tough thing is, they really wanted home court advantage. And its seems like Miami is starting to rev up their engine for the final lap. Idk, I’m sure George will be fine. But I think him shooting at 52% is long gone.

I think I may have accidentily included the all star game so that may skew the numbers a little bit in both directions. But they should still be very close.

Give the man a break… He was clearly stressing out over that stripper he got pregnant smh.

Seriously though… He’s shot the ball very well his last two games. He still needs to cut down on his turnovers, but let’s hope the shooting slump is behind him. I still feel comfortable saying he’s a top five player due to the fact he’s probably the best defender in the league. His offense is still coming along, which is scary.

The entire team needs to pick up their play, especially if they want to hold off Miami for the #1 seed.

People were a little quick to anoint him a top 5 player. I mean defensible yo think he’s great but on the offensive side of the ball he still got some work to do. Especially against the upper echelon tier of players in the league he struggles to get offense going at all

I think that Paul George has a great future ahead of him in the NBA and I think he will be one of the 10 best players in the NBA for years to come BUT I think that he was annointed as a superstar too quick. He’s a great perimeter defender in only his 4th year in the NBA which is much further ahead of alot of guys. But he can’t score at will on a consistent basis yet like Carmelo, Durant, and LeBron. He still has alot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball. He shows flashes of it and will even perform that way for stretches but right now he’s still not good enough to do it night in and night out. When he does watch out!!!
