jjonzParticipantThe GM said NYoung is untouchable, i know they are young but how can the wizards get better? I hope they trade Kirk Hinrich to a contender, don’t know who needs a quality back up or starting pg (Been a fan since Kansas). But this is a Lifeless team. A.Blatche/NY could get them a mid-late pick in this next draft. or they could get a 1st rnd pick in the rich draft of 2012.

BigDParticipantThe only players the Wizards should insist on keeping are McGee, Young and Wall. There part of the future of this team.

TRC1991Participantblatche upsets me more and more watching him play…does anyone see freakish resemblances in game/personality to Vin Baker?

EntropyParticipantFrom the games i have watched, Young takes so many tough (bad) shots. He doesn’t look to pass that much. Blatche is similar but is a much better passer, but everytime he dribbles i always get the feeling he will turn the ball over. Wall and Mcgee are the only bright spots for the future, with Wall being a top 10 player in 3-4 years. One thing they need to change is the coach.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantDoes anybody else think that if Andray Blatche plays to his full potential, he can be like LaMarcus Aldridge? They are both good ball handlers, both have good mid range shots, decent post games, good passing ability. Sadly, he doesn’t play to his full potential

BigDParticipantBlatche seems to play like he thinks he’s a guard at times, he has pretty good handles, but a different player to LaMarcus Aldridge i reckon at full potential.

WizardofOzParticipantI agree that the only untouchable player is Wall. I wouldn’t trade McGee either. And I wouldn’t trade Nick Young for a mid/late 1st round pick. Don’t forget that he was a mid-1st round pick himself, and what are the odds that the pick actually becomes better then Young, especially in this not-so-deep draft. I’m not sure if I would do it for a 2012 pick either, unless it’s a lottery pick.
And as a Wizards fan, people don’t talk about Blatche’s injury enough. I thought Dray was the real deal at the end of last year and wouldve been even better this year. I was maybe even more excited about watching him play this year moreso that Gil & Wall. Wall is supposed to be great because he’s #1 & Gil was supposed to be great because he got the Max but people still question if Dray was really good or not. Im not just talking about off the court stuff but even on the court they questioned him.
I honestly think that it wouldve been a situation where everyone is talking about the big FA’s in Bosh, Amare, Dirk, Boozer, Jefferson, and so on but Dray wouldve gone head up with all of them and more than hold his own this season. Thats how good I think he wouldve been. I think people wouldve come away saying that these guys got all the money & the offseason hype but maybe the most talented guy out of the group is the one who makes 3mil.
Then you add to that the rumors that people were saying that he was doing everythign that the fans always wanted. EG said Dray was working out super hard. He was even lifting weights now. I agree with what Dray said at the end of last season that people are crazy if they think it will be harder for him this year to do what he did at the end of last year. He said just like I felt. With Gil back & some new guys, he wont ever get doubled, and will get some easy looks from Gil getting doubled & having more scorers. That was even before we got Wall. Put Dray on the court with Gil & Wall and watch him easily put up numbers.
The best thing about having Wall. He will push it, which would’ve definitely lead to easy baskets or easier baskets for Dray. Imagine the pick & roll with Dray & Wall. If you thought it was good with Jamison and Gil, then thats nothing because Dray can hit the J and put it on the floor.
Even better is that he can pass it when he gets it back and is a willing passer which Jamison couldnt & wouldnt do. But many people here underestimate the offseason injury. Many people were saying "It’s just the offseason and he won’t miss any games." Thats what I kept hearing in my area so its like it didn’t matter but the Dray we get now isn’t same. He less than the guy he was last year due to the fact that he’s out of shape, didn’t lift any weights, wasn’t been able to work on any moves or add anything to his game. It sucks. He couldve had 3 months of hard core weight lifting, post moves work, adding burst & lift, and getting his conditioning right to be a starting PF for 82 plus games.
If you listened to him he was so confident. He was talking just like me. He dont have any fear.If you asked me last season, I would’ve picked Blatche over Amare’ any day. I’m not going to say that now, but I think that Dray could’ve outplayed him a couple of times. Now it’s the other way around as hsone wont ever be as good as he couldve been and wont start rounding into real form until the 2nd half of the sea. Dont get me wrong, he has alot of talent so he has still somewhat produced, but it’s be the same. Helooked rusty. Again, I think all of his flaws wouldve been so much better this year. I think he wouldve hit the boards hard because he wont have to carry the Offensive burden. I think he wouldve played much better D with better conditioning.
Gil left but he still wouldve been alright because now he gets the Offense ran through him again. No doubt in my mind that he wouldve been one of the best 4’s in the league this year. The year after this is when McGee will be fully ready & Dray will have the full offseason in a contract year and thats when they will really look great together.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantid keep those three and everyone else could go i just dont see blatche ever being part of a winning team hes more about getting his own yes young does force sum crazy shots but hes a good scoring wing to compliment j wall and with javale his reboudning and shot blocking help anchor the d this team really needs a true veterean leader i know they got mr worst contract in the world now but hes not a leader

Moon RiverParticipantI don’t the GM is serious in that statement. This time of year the throw that stuff out there just because they know there is interest and it puts teams on notice that they are not giving him away. Seriously, the Bulls should put together a package to get this guy and given the Hinrich trade last year, we know the two teams can get on the phone and get it done.

thparadoxParticipantTrue cuseguy, it could definitely be a negotiating tactic.
1) Wall is obviously untouchable. Generational talent.
2) McGee you simply wouldn’t get enough back in any trade to make it worthwhile
3) Blatche is the next in line to be untouchable… he’s a very talented player… but he’s been AWFUL on defense. I wonder if it’s injuries or simply attitude? Either way, you’re probably not getting value back in a trade
Nick Young being untouchable is just a joke… he can easily be replaced by any number of scoring guards in the league.

bennydabullParticipantI always feel uncomfortable whenever Blatche has the ball. Feels like he’s either gonna chuck up a bad jumper or turn it over. I can see the talent but in my opinion he’s a blackhole.

butidonthavemoneyThere shouldn’t be any untouchables aside from Wall. The Wizards should be listening to all offers that could potentially make them a better team.
And Nick Young being untouchable is pure, unabridged stupidity.

WizardofOzParticipantI think the injury is definitely affecting Blatche. This season, he’s looked rusty, slow, out of shape, and unsure of himself, and you have to take this all into consideration since he isn’t a physical player and most of his game is involved with beating defenders off the dribble. That’s why you haven’t seen the spin moves and all the old school low-post moves that you would usually from him. He was planning on adding weight to his frame (muscle), but then he got injured and ended up adding fat. He’s also known as a very good mid-range shooter for his size, but this season, his J has pretty much sucked. Much like what Arenas was doing this season before he was traded, Dray he’s putting nothing into it. He’s just nonchalantly shooting it. You cant do that. You have to be in rythm and step into it
Most of you might not agree with me when I say this, but IMO, Blatche is near-untoachable. He hasn’t shown it this season, but once he gets a full offseason where he’ll be able to get in shape and refine his game, he gonna go back to BEASTIN. Most Wizards fans want to trade him, but if we do trade him, it’s going to be a BIG mistake. Most Wizards fans wanted to trade Nick Young, but look at the player he has become now.
