This is one of the games that Sullinger was supposed to struggle according to some people on here. Well so far he has 9pts and 6 reb. He’s had his shot blocked(and blocked Illinois 7footers shot, but just like all games against big defenders he is adjusting. He also is working well against the double team with outlet passes. even with Illinois length they are still doubling when he gets the the ball

    against Athletic line ups

FSU-11pts 13 reb vs double and triple teams

    Florida-26-10

    Minn-15 and 12

Against those line ups he’s averaging  18pts 11 reb

I also think J.Richmond is gonna be something to deal with by the end of his soph year or JR year. He’s raw but has so much potential

I didn’t think Sullinger would struggle against the Illini big men. Tisdale and Davis are tall, but not big. He held his own against Mbekwe and Muldrow.

LAKESHOW, it doesn’t take a genius to know that an 18-year old who is 6’8 isn’t used to playing against that kind of length. There aren’t an abundance of 7-footers in the world. It changes how he sees the hoop when playing with his back to the basket. Instead of turning and having clear vision of the basket, he has someone’s chest. It changes the angle at which he has to put up a shot because of the length and leaping ability of the man guarding him. These are things he has to learn how to handle as a post player his size for when he goes to the NBA. He is a bright guy, I have no doubt he’ll figure it out. Nothing happens overnight though.

Sullinger is good, really good. But I wonder what is upside is because alot of places where I read said it’s not much. I think he might be called "the safe pick" come draft time. I still think there’s a chance Sullinger might not be as great as we think either. I think he’s a 4-8 type of pick but I wouldn’t be shocked if he dropped a bit because the undersized thing.

The thing about people and saying who has what upside….THEY HAVE NO CLUE. No one has any clue what someones upside is because they don’t know how much better or worst a player is gonna get. If you notice  Everyone says a good/great athlete has great upside but someone who doesn’t play above the rim doesn’t have high upside. And we all know that’s bull because it seems the ones who are so athletic end up becoming bust or not as good as people though

lol…He gets that thing down low and its either foul or bucket for the most part.  His lower body is ridiculous. Legs like tree trunks. Imagine once he gets a NBA trainer and loses some more of that baby fat, add a good 3-4 inches on his vert from training, not that it matters because he knows exactly how to negate a athletes ability to jump and block his shot

if i were cleveland with that #1 overall, if Kyrie doesn’t come out, I think you have to go with Sully. Repair the image of the Cavs. You draft another hometown kid, but this one way more embodies the spirit of the Midwest. Blue collar, doesn’t bring attention to himself, and out works everyone. Today against my beloved Illini, he went for 26pts and 16reb. Monster game. I saw Evan Turner live last year in Champaign and was utterly impressed and he didn’t have a game like this. Cavs right now have no low post presence. Varejao? psh, good for 7 and 10…maybe. Hickson? Lebron made him look like a G, now he’s lookin’ like a scrub. And let’s face it, regardless of who Cleveland drafts, they are going to suck again next year. Take Sullinger this year, and next year hope for Kyrie or Austin Rivers or Gilchrist or Quincy Miller to help turn that team around. Gotta trade Mo, he is no good as a 1st or 2nd option. Jamison will come off the books after next year. Rebuild through the draft, trade off the veteran assets for picks or young guys and  hope you don’t rot in the cellar of the Eastern Division for the next 10 years.
