Cool Article.
Your thoughts?
I think Thabeet would fit in best with the Timberwolves if they can trade to get him.0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/29/2009 - 10:18am #154139
acantareParticipanti am worried that he might end up another pat O Bryant, Kandi man, Sene. Thought he does have that he is coming out of a good basketball school going for him. Big risk / Big reward guy i think min should try to see how Al/love works before trading up for a center

QHaynes123Hasheem Thabeet may be a great C for years to go.
I think he you give him a team with a good PG, you may have a great big man.

Scott42444ParticipantWho do you think that they will trade with Chicago? Do you think that Hinrich and #16 and #26 is going to be enough for the #6? I don’t know if I think that’s enough unless the Bulls could do a leap-frog kinda thing where they do a package of #16, #26, and Aaron Gray (could be a back-up for a few years for a team) to move up to a #13 or #11 or something. The jump from #6 to #16 is too great for #26 to off-set it, even with Kirk Hinrich.
But, God do I hope I am wrong!

AstroParticipantHis offensive development has been slow — he never really blossomed like I’d hoped.
Defensively he can make an impact in the NBA, if he learns to stay out of foul trouble. But NBA shotblocking skills are definitely there as well as rebounding.
I like his combination of size and explosiveness — that is rare in the NBA these days.

QHaynes123If i was Minnesota and all i had to give up was a top 6 pick for Hinrich, 16 and 26 overall pick…I would do it in a heartbeat.
Minnesota would go from Cellar Dwellers in the west to a 8th seed overnight.

jaycee24ParticipantNo Way I take that deal from Chicago
This draft is super weak and the only quality prospect that may be available at 16 is Tyreke Evans whos basically another Foye. I think they should take Thabeet and maybe trade some players for another top pick to pick up a true Point Guard. Doin this they could build a good young nucleus ala OKC Thunder.0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/30/2009 - 1:24am #154321
rvirsalParticipantwest is really tough. i dont think hinrich would take minny to the playoffs with the minny team as constructed. phoenix is still there (they missed the playoffs coz amar’e was injured), clips would be better with blake griffin, okc would be better with durant/green/westbrook/hill or thabeet leading the team. there are a lot of teams better than minny. i don’t see them going to the playoffs any time soon.

Scott42444ParticipantI don’t know who the Wolves plan on drafting, but there is a new GM in Minnesota who wouldn’t mind putting the Wolves in playoff contention ASAP. If the Wolves feel that Hinrich, plus players that might slip out of the lottery (16) and end of round 1 (26) could assume roles and instantly contribute, whether it be for defense or “shooting” (a guy like Ellington), I might be possible. But if I were a Minny fan and that deal went down without at least “future considerations” attached to it I would probably choke on my own tears.
If Hill drops to 6, the Bulls should call Minny like a father at 2:00 AM on prom night. But, if he doesn’t, hang onto Hinrich since Gordon is still very much a question mark.

acantareParticipanti would take that hinrich trade in a second, this draft is such a crap shoot that the guy you get at 6 probrbly isnt that much better then the guy at 16. I would do a #6 Derozen for Hinrich and #16 Ellington in a second. Hinrich gives you a young veteran leader who i would think should fit well with al, love, and foye.
