valentineHi there. Had a Wizards fetish, but i’m back to the team i’ve cheered for since ’95, the Atlanta Hawks. We should offer Al Jefferson 3 years, $52 million and Josh Smith 5 years, $100 million. One will be our PF. Ivan Johnson should step up. Mike Dunleavy 1 year, $4 million and get James McAdoo or Glenn Robinson III in the draft. My two cents. Take care. Thanks.

wrectorParticipantYou meant Al Horford, right? Not Jefferson? Yikes…

dmo21ParticipantHorford is already under contract for another 4 years, so he doesn’t need a contract. And if he means Jefferson, that also doesn’t make sense because you are signing him to be your 6th man? That’s ridiculous.

Wahoo757ParticipantNothing like shelling out $150 million when it’s completely unnecessary.

r377ParticipantThe Hawks have approx the 18th and 20th pick, who do you think they will take ?
I am not a Hawks fan but did I read somewhere that Horford would like to be a PF not a centre ? They have two picks do you think they will take a centre with at least one pick ? Zaza is getting old, but is a decent veteran that could show the rookie the ropes. Would they take Withey with one pick ?
I like John Jenkins, do you think he could develop into a good starting SG or will be more like a 6th or 7th man ?
Lets also keep the negs down please

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantBest case scenario for the Hawks they are able to entice Dwight to come back to his hometown and play with his buddies Smith and Anthony Morrow. They should have plenty of salary room this offseason with (if they pick up qualifying offers on Teague and Ivan Johnson) Al Horford, Lou Williams, Jeff Teague, Ivan Johnson and John Jenkins on the books for just over $23 million.
For that to happen though they would need to resign Smith and heal any rifts that may have festered over the past couple years between him and the organization.
Morrow didn’t do much in Atlanta this year and they traded him to Dallas, but he’s a pure shooter that would open things up for Dwight and Horford down low. He’d be a good fit at SG for this team if they give him some minutes like he had in the past for the Nets and the fact that he’s friends with Howard and Smith would be convenient.
If they used their draft picks on older more mature prospects that could contribute right away (like lets say Jeff Withey and Doug McDermott) they could have a pretty impressive team for next year. The bench could use some pieces but that front court should be dominant.
PG Jeff Teague/Lou Williams
SG Anthony Morrow/John Jenkins
SF Josh Smith/Doug McDermott
PF Al Horford/Ivan Johnson
C Dwight Howard/Jeff Withey0 - AuthorPosts
