Which current playoff performer is most unstoppable?

    • Dirk Nowitzki
    • Derrick Rose
    • Dwyane Wade
    • LeBron James
    • Kevin Durant

I would have to go with Dirk Nowitzki.  The fact that LeBron has been stopped a couple of times in these playoffs as well as Rose when their jumpshots stop dropping.  Kevin Durant can disappear if you play him too physical or when Westbrook stops feeding him.  Dwyane Wade’s lack of perimeter scoring makes him easier to stop even though still impossible.

Dirk has more size than each.  Maybe a better jumpshot and a much better post game than anyone on the list.

Well, those are 5 of the top 6 guys in the league so they are all great.  Another question might be which guy who can carry a team for an entire series if he is on his game?  I would put LeBron James first.  He is the most complete player on that list.  Derrick Rose can carry his team for a few games but he lacks the size of the other guys.  Wade is a blend between LeBron James and Derrick Rose.  Dirk is great but he is not the elite shot creator that those other three are. Durant is the scariest because he looks like a cross between Kobe and Dirk with an upside of being a cross between MJ and Bird.

The most unstoppable now is LeBron James (can do it all, and carry a team when he is on).  A couple of years from now it will be Kevin Durant with honorable mention going to Derrick Rose.  Dirk and Wade can put a team on their back and carry them for 2 or 3 games in a series but not the whole series.

    There’s no defense for Nowitzki.

Defend him with a big? Yea… OK. We saw what’s happened to Camby, Aldridge, Gasol, Bynum and Ibaka and Collison. Not even a versatile long defender like Odom could defend him.

Defend him with a wing? Yea… OK. He’s taking him in the post and it’s a wrap. Wallace couldn’t defend him. Artest couldn’t defend him. He’s just too tall and shoots over them.

And unlike players like James, Wade and Rose… He doesn’t need the ball for long periods of time, allowing defenses to load up on him. You can move him all over the floor. On the three-point line. In the low post, mid post or high post. He doesn’t need isolations or clearouts. He makes quick decisions with the ball. It’s very easy for other players to "get theirs" while playing with him because his style of game is so unselfish.

He shoots the three. He gives you the one or two dribble pull up. He shows off the mid-range game. He puts it on the floor and finishes. And adding a legit low post game has just made him unstoppable. He gets to the line and is money. IF you double him, he finds the open man. He’s also clutch.

There is no defense for this man. I will say though that once Durant develops a post game and becomes a better passer, it’s a wrap. There won’t be any individual or team defense in the world that can stop him.

No.. Yall say Dirk because he is playing well "now." Yall have such a short memory.. Lebron James was the only player on his team for 7 years and nobody could stop him.. He was the only person you game plan for and was still the most dominate player around..  Durant has lead the league in scoring twice and was the youngest ever to do it.. It seems like he has been pretty unstopable for close to 160 games… IDK man.. Yall need to remember what has gone on before these past 14 or so games..

Agreed. U can’t become a prisoner of the moment in these situations. They’re all great players but I’m taking Lebron any day of the week, he has dominated opposing defenses for nearly a decade. He’s been playing very well in the playoffs as well single handedly closing out a couple of games, finally starting to show a closers mentality
