prophetmeirParticipantaccording to hoops hype monta rejected an extension from the bucks. It would have been a pretty good deal with 37 mill over three years. I hope montae and his agent has some sort of promise or intrest from other teams because I cant think of no other team but SAC that would give him 11 mill per year. I dont even Sac would be willing to do that. Hes probally looking for a longer more secure sort of contract but to me this is nuts.

TyroberParticipantCan’t see anyone else giving him that type of money. He puts up numbers, but those don’t seem to equal wins for whatever team he is on.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantSomeone will. GMa are cocky and think that the reason it didnt produce wins was because of his supporting cast. They will think that tey have the correct formula for him to be successful.. He will get his money. The Suns could use him to sell tickets at least..

CynthiaParticipantCharlotte desperately could use a scorer like Monta. He’s also still young enough he’d fit in with the youth movement. He’s basically a direct upgrade over Gerald Henderson in every way.
He would also give Charlotte a face for their franchise, because they currently don’t really have one.

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantIs everyone’s hero Corey Magette? Monta Ellis is looking to score the most points while never have to work overtime by having to play playoff games? If everytime you are the man your team tanks, it might be time to not be “the man”.

KHAM83ParticipantThis is a lot of money for him to turn down, but I think either he wants out of Milwaukee, or maybe….just maybe, he’s willing to take less to go to the right situation where he can be a part of a winning team. Not saying take the vet minimum to go to a team like Miami, but I can see a winner forking over 8 million to bring him in. I personally would like Philly to go after him if they do not get Pope in the draft or able to sign Mayo.

HobbyOGParticipantI would take a paycut not to live in Milwaukee and rather play for a contender..Dude has made a ton of money sometimes it’s not about the money.

FearTheStacheParticipantI think he would be best as a Super 6th Man on a contender. Obviously, I don’t think many fans would want him on their team, as a result of his inneficiency, but who wouldn’t want to go to war with him as your sixth man?

HobbyOGParticipantI could see him in Dallas..better city, better organization. Cuban will have money to play with and I doubt he will get the players he is targeting like D.Howard and CP3. Also PHX really wanted Eric Gordon and James Harden. I could see him there and they have the cash.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantThere is no way in the new CBA NBA, where nearly half the teams are ruled by metric centric GM’s, that Monta Ellis turned down 3 years 37 million. Maybe if the second year had a team option and the third had a buyout for one million, but that’s the only way. Whoever leaks some of this Bucks stuff is very smokescreen/manipulative-ish. Remember the deal they supposedly offered Jennings last year that was something like 4 years for 40 that he and his agent said early on during the season was a complete fabrication. Numbers wise he is maybe one of the five worse players in the whole NBA. I personally believe he could easily be a top ten 2 guard but he has to believe in coaching and efficiency.
He seems destine to only get one of those prove your self contracts that Mayo and JR Smith got, the same message was sent to Tyreke Evans by Sac before the season also. They seem to work pretty well.

BasterdInABasketParticipantAhh saw this coming, brings a smile to my face as a Bucks fan. He’ll win a team just enough teams with his sometimes great offensive game, but lose a lot more with his inconsistency and empty numbers on the defensive end.. Now someone GM looking to get fired needs to throw near max money at Jennings and he can be out soon too.

JNixonParticipantThe Memphis Grizzlies would be good for Ellis, he would have to buy into team defense and accept a 6th man role though….there are questions about stubborn he is to that though

omphalosParticipantI honestly don’t see what Ellis would bring to the Grizzlies that Bayless doesn’t already provide. He’s a better scorer, worse defender and a headache.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantTay would be a good fit anywhere as a 6th man. He prolly just wants out of Milwaukee. Same with Jennings. Have they ever been able to keep anyone beside maybe redd. They need to come to Seattle.

machu46ParticipantRegarding the OP, not really surprising, and honestly, most Bucks fans are rejoicing that he declined the offer. Now the fear is that Milwaukee will throw even more money at him since they have money to spend until Monta simply can’t refuse the offer.
Regarding the Sonics guy that posted like 230520953 times, if the current Bucks owner is telling the truth, them moving to Seattle will not happen for a long time. He’s on the record saying that if he sells the team, he will make sure that it is sold to a group that is dedicated to keeping the Bucks in Milwaukee.
My personal hope is that Milwaukee will finally bottom out and let Ellis and Redick go, S&T Jennings, and get a high draft pick next year.
