MrAllison88ParticipantTAYLOR WHAT DO U THINK OF MY LIST?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 3:32pm #476239
JoeWolf113 ppg 12 rpg and 3 bpg are nice, but when your team is 14-24 you don’t deserve a mid season All-NBA Honrable mention, IMO

nateoak10ParticipantUnless that player is single handedly making a team better or worse (a case of better would be CLeveland LBJ). Its a team game, more often then not really good players get lost on bad teams, there are only a hdnful of players that can realistically make a team that much better to the point of a conistent playoff team. Those are the elites
My list
team 1
PG: Rondo
SG: Kobe
SF: LBJ
PF: Stat
C: Howard
team 2
PG: Rose
SG: Wade
SF: KD
PF: Blake
C: Pau
team 3
PG: CP3
SG: Ellis
SF: Melo
PF: Love
C: Horford

goneParticipantSo Dirk is having a career year and he doesnt make any of your teams???^^
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 3:47pm #476244
JoeWolf1^^^ Maybe not, but the NBA does it. Look how Kevin Garnett’s appearances on the all NBA squads were reflected by the rise of the T-Wolves.

MrAllison88ParticipantI HAVE DIRK ON MY 1ST EAM

nateoak10ParticipantSlide Love to center and Dirk to PF then I guess, I blanked on him completely
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 3:58pm #476251
ItsVictorOladipoParticipantTaylorCondrin, All three of your teams are almost exactly the same as what mine would be, the only difference being that I would switch Rose for Wade on the first team.
And NateOak I haven’t been able to edit my posts in months, it always says access denied.

JJeff6ParticipantNash needs at least honorable mention somewhere. 17 ppg and 11 assits. idc about his teams record but that deserves something. and 4 rpg, not bad for a point gaurd.

nateoak10ParticipantBut so are guy like Westbrook and Manu, its tough for a guard
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 4:55pm #476272
llperezkobe is playing like he belongs on 1st team, not just becasue his name. COmplelety different then yao being voted in.

butidonthavemoneyTaylorCondrin – Nice list, but seeing Horford over Duncan is blasphemy.
nateoak10 – I don’t know if Monta Ellis deserves the nod over Deron Williams…
But maybe I’m just biased.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 6:27pm #476290
bigblackNbeautifulParticipantOr maybe nateoak10 is just bias….
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/18/2011 - 7:35pm #476307
iguapops420ParticipantSeriously, Kobe has the numbers and the wins in probably in the lower percentile of minutes.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 6:48am #476364
IndianaBasketballParticipantI guess people hate Manu Ginboli, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and that 35-6 record they’ve compiled.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 10:02am #476406
Ghost01ParticipantRose

LAKE SHOWQuestion. If the lakers were the top team in the league with bynum putting up 13 and 9 would he be considered all NBA 1st 2nd or third team?..remember this isn’t a team based on what you have done in you’re career its based on what you are doing now. Was any of the Cavs on one of the teams when Lebron was there and they had the best record?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:16pm #476517
butidonthavemoneyYou may be right, but you have to consider who chooses the teams.
Do you think that coaches would vote in Al Horford or Andrew Bynum over Tim Duncan?
Personally, I doubt it. Even if the Lakers surpass the Spurs for having the best record in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:27pm #476525
omphalosParticipantThis has got to be one of the hardest years for putting together All-NBA teams, the league is stacked with superstars at pretty much every position who are playing ridiculously well. My first team would be:
PG: Rondo
SG: Kobe
SF: Lebron
PF: Amare
C: Dwight
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:29pm #476528
LAKE SHOWBoozer was picked over other players who were older with better careers. This is All NBA team. They do it a lil different then picking all stars
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:29pm #476529
TRC1991Participant@butidonthavemoney
horford over duncan is blashphemy?
Horford: 16.2 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.1 bpg, 57% FG, 3.4 apg, 1.4 tpg
Duncan: 13.7 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2 bpg, 49% FG, 3 apg, 1.8 tpg
soo….yeah, its blasphemy if you are judging their year on blocks. if you are judging on anything else, horford gets the nod
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:39pm #476534
butidonthavemoneyI assure you that I already knew what they were averaging.
It’s blasphemy.
LAKE SHOW – I think Tim Duncan is a special case. Besides, do you really think Bynum is a better player than Duncan? Even if he has slightly better stats?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:54pm #476544
LAKE SHOWright now both healthy…yeah. the thing i do ios look at how a player is playing not just his name or what he did in the past. age and injuries catch’s up with everyone even Duncan. When Jordan played his last 2 seasons he wasn’t the best player or best at his position. He’s my favorite player of all time but that doesnt mean i’m Blinded by the obvious. This isn’t the Same Duncan of the past
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:07pm #476555
butidonthavemoneyHe’s obviously not the same player that he was a year ago, but he still does a lot for his team. Horford might score more points and Bynum might be younger, but without Tim Duncan the Spurs wouldn’t be the best team in the NBA. They probably wouldn’t even be a playoff team.
He’s still a great player, and I wouldn’t even think about trading Duncan for Bynum or Horford.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:09pm #476557
butidonthavemoneyI think most coaches would side with me.
But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:13pm #476560
LAKE SHOWI’m not saying he’s a bum but he is no longer a great player. If he was a great player right now this would not even be up for discussion. Do you see anyone asking if kobe, wade, lebron, rose, durant should be all stars?.. He’s still a good player but his great days are behind him. Not trading him for those players are you’re personal opinion just like I’m pretty sure the Lakers wouldn’t trade Bynum for him or Hortford for him. If it was for a playoff series or game then that would be debatable but if we are talking about from here till there careers are over then its a dumb mover by Atlanta or the Lakers to make that trade. Duncan is a year or two from retiring because his body just cant take it. He has been complaining about how much pain he is in (during the season) when talking to reporters int he off season
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:26pm #476571
butidonthavemoneyYes, it is all opinion. That’s why it doesn’t matter.
The only opinions that matter here are those of NBA coaches, and it’s very hard to believe that they’re going to vote in Andrew Bynum or Al Horford over a living legend who is producing at nearly the same level on the best team in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:29pm #476574
LAKE SHOWi wouldnt vote Bynum in as all NBA at all
Boozer over duncan easily
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 4:33pm #476578
butidonthavemoneyYeah, I can’t argue with that.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/19/2011 - 5:09pm #476591
iguapops420ParticipantThe Spurs have sped up the tempo of the game because Tim could’t be a prime focus any longer. He can only do his thing for stretches at this point in his career. And no, Gino hasn’t been as good as Wade or Kobe this year. Kobe even at his worst which he has been referred to as being this year, has still been better than Gino. Wade is the only 2 in the league who could take the 1st team, and even that is arguable, as he has a smaller work load as he has another perimeter threat unlike Bean.
Duncan has done absolutely NOTHING, to warrant being on an All NBA team this year, other than lack of competition. Bynum stays healthy, and puts up better numbers, I gotta say he’d get it if it were simply coming down to the two. Same role as 3rd option, similar numbers/minutes. It’s a fair debate that could honestly go either way.
