Andv1 WaitingParticipantNot sure if this ish is true as the Unkle(use a K as the guy is Krooked) that supposedly did Lonzos family dirty is trying to ether the poor guy and his family…Don’t get me wrong he could possibly be telling the truth(who knows in he said she saids)
So if this correct the following happened last season:
Apparently" Lonzo Tore his Ankle Ligaments” vs Houston which is why he missed so much time at the end of last season…Lonzo apparently got a proffesional opinion about this and was told by the lakers not to get it sorted/surgery(probably so they could trade him still as injured players probably aren’t tradeable)..If this part is true man the lakers did the guy dirty and may even effect his long term career..As old Foster is basically calling that Lonzo will miss time due to this/get easily reinjured.
So I guess my questions/Questions for everyone is this if this:
If this true how much of the season are people picking Ball will actually play for the pelicans and if anyone has torn Ankle Ligaments before or knows about this what is the sort of issues you have had/will he people have with it?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantTheres no way to really know the truth but this story doesn’t make a ton of sense and the source is somewhat sketchy to say the least. Torn ligaments in your ankle generally don’t require surgery to heal, and the Lakers were probably being extra conservative with ball given his age and the fact that he still has his entire career ahead of him. Plus it wouldn’t make much sense to bring him back after they were basically eliminated from the playoffs. Lonzo appears to have healed up and isn’t showing any adverse affects of the injury from what I’ve seen so far in the preseason.

esperanzafleet69Participantthis. nobody is a doctor here anyways, why speculate on how a potential injury would affect him?

-Aria-ParticipantNot to be argumenitive but, several posters here have said they ARE doctors (or medical students) and have commented on many injuries in the past. HOWEVER personally without being able to examine Lonzo for myself, I wouldn’t be able to accurately gauge his injury. But as everyone else has said, from what I saw in the preseason, there really isn’t any issues. He doesn’t even show any weakness or tenderness when jumping or running. He should be fine.

sweaterflexParticipantI doubt the Lakers would have done this, as this would have exposed them to medical malpractice and contractual malfeasance. They could have been sued for more than Lonzo was worth to them as a trade asset for doing such a thing.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve had ligament injuries. If you dont go through the proper treatment to repair/heal a ligament it doesnt really heal properly. It will always feel weird and you wont ever really run the same. With that being said Ball was doing alot of upperbody training and work on his jumpshot this summer. He completely changed his body and his jumpshot. He is also running perfectly fine so I highly doubt these reports are true or he wouldnt have had time to work on his upperbody/jumpshot.
