SwatLakeCityParticipantYou can click on mine on the left. I have added comments to mostly every pick.
@scottoant,
- I don’t see Burks slipping out of the top 10. If Utah wants him they will have to select him with their 6th pick to get him.
- I doubt Sacramento passes on a point guard. They badly need and there are 3 worthy of a top 5 pick (Irving, Walker, and Knight)
- I don’t see the Rockets grabbing Jimmer because even though it would add some bench scoring to them they already have a good PG in Lowry and a good backup in Dragic. I’m hoping they go for a center like Bismack.
- Where’s Jonas Valanciunas? I think he’ll stay in the draft especially since he will be a lottery pick.
- The Bobcats are not impressed with Augustin, expect them to go for a PG probably Jimmer because I don’t think Kemba will slip past 8. If not then I expect them to go for a SF to replace Gerald Wallace, perhaps Kawhi Leonard.
- I don’t see the Suns drafting Morris because they really don’t need a PF. They already have Frye and he is doing very well. Of course he is no STAT but nor is Morris, and they probably won’t find one in this draft, but they have a better chance of finding one in the 2012 draft. Expect them to go for a SG like Jordan Hamilton if Jimmer is not available.
That’s all the comments I have about your lottery.

Scottoant93ParticipantI aprecciate your comments, you have alot of valid comments. I kind of made this up on the spot i havent made a official mock draft(i’ll make one when the lottery comes). Thanks though, i will have to seriously reconsider some of these picks

OhCanada-ParticipantMines on the side.
Btw I took a quick glance at your mock and saw you have Chicago taking 3 PF’s. at least gve them one SG, PF is their deepest position.

Scottoant93ParticipantI like that you put the bulls picking Marshon Brooks, I think that is a near perfect fit for them a sg who is a deadly scorer

SwatLakeCityParticipant@oh Canada, why would Milwaukee select Jimmer when they already have Brandon Jennings? They could probably use him as backup but he plays no defense and that’s one thing that is really stressed there. Him going to the Bucks would make no sense.

Charlie SheenParticipantHas the 1st pick he better and I mean better choose Kyrie Irving as Derrick Williams is too similar to Beasley and picking Irving make Rubio and Flynn or Ridnour expendable

Bad DogParticipantMine is on the side. It’s difficult to put together a mock draft before the lottery. Some people won’t agree with my picks but one of the things you need to think about is what the GMs are thinking. They don’t view all these players as guys who will help their team, some of them are just assets to the GMs. That’s the way i construct my mock draft. If i had it my way i’d have Enes Kanter going first overall and i’d have Jeremy Tyler going much higher because i think he could be very good but he probably will be late first round unless he charms the socks off of the scouts at the pre-draft camp…….That’s the nature of the business. It’s all about who gets what and what can i get for what i have

If anyone wants to critisize my picks, feel free. I’ll attempt to justify why I have each player where he is.

joecheck88Participantya, check out mine on the side. only the 1st round is updated as of now, tho.

SwatLakeCityParticipantCoolidger: Your mock is very good, but there are two things that I don’t see happening:
Motie to the Warriors- The Warriors want to become more of a defensive team. The days of Nellie Ball are long gone. Motie isn’t really a defensive big. He’s very soft on defense. So if the Warriors want to try and become like the Celtics then don’t expect them to go after Motie.
I don’t think Jereme Richmond will be the last pick of the draft. He may have made the wrong choice to come out this early but I don’t think he would come out if he were projected to be drafted in the fifties. He may still decide to come back, and if his stock is in the 50’s then I think its a pretty clear sign that he will go back to Illinois. I have him going late forties, but that may still convince him to come back for his sophomore year.
Other than, that very good draft. I’m impressed considering that you’re new to this site.

JoeWolf1You can take a look if you like, I really don’t mess with it a whole lot until the lottery is set. Right now it’s just a big list of prospects and where I have them ranked.

kobyzParticipanti have mock with explanations to first round picks, you can give me criticise if you have.

thunderbear82ParticipantKobyz, Why would the wizards take Terrence Jones he is a high risk project. I see them going with Vessely who is a higher reward and less risk.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 3:19pm #526344
kobyzParticipantare you sure Vessely is less risk then Jones, i’m not sure about that, Vessely seems to me much more work in progress, right now he is very erratic in his game and raw … and they totally different players but i think Jones has more potential, Washington have a hole at SF and if Jones make the right adjustments to become completely SF i see him being great fit and great support to Wall for the future, maybe a third option player in the mold of Wilson Chandler.

CoolidgerParticipantWhile the days of Don Nelson are over, the days of Keith Smart are also likely over. I think the Warriors should improve on the defensive end, but looking at their roster, it’s not like they have the defensive talent to become a defensive juggernaut in the NBA. Yes, they should attempt to make a transition to play more defense, but at this point the best thing they can do is continue to play to their strength’s which is clearly getting out on the break and getting 3 point shots. This is a team that still likes to shoot the deep ball, so why not get a big who can do the same thing?
A lineup of Curry/Ellis/Wright/Motiejunas/Lee would work for good periods of time. Ellis is one of the fastest 2 guards in the NBA, David Lee is one of the best pick and role big man. Surround them with players who can shoot the 3, such as the above players mentioned, and they are going to become an offensive matchup nightmare for alot of older, slower teams.
Another player they could opt to go with is Marcus Morris if he’s available, I just think Motiejunas has a higher ceiling if he bulks up a bit.
As for the Jereme Richmond comment, I have to agree there. I haven’t updated my second round as much as of late, but I agree that he could be higher…
@above:
They both have risks. I think Jan Vesely has higher risk considering he doesn’t have NBA 3 range, and alot of more powerful SF’s can bully him on the block. Yet a player with his length and skillset is pretty rare, and could reap higher rewards. At this point, the Wizards are a young team looking for players who can grow together, and aren’t considered serious contenders anyways, so they aren’t playing with high stakes and can take a little bit of a bigger risk and possibly get highly versitile player out of it.
