So, per 2k, the tracklist for NBA 2k14 was announced. Music is a huge part of the experience and last years Jay-Z tracklist wasn’t all that bad to be honest. It was selected by LeBron and well, this tracklist has some good ones too. Not bad LBJ.

Big Krit – “Cool 2 be Southern”
Cris Cab – “Paradise (On Earth)”
    Coldplay – “Lost!”
Daft Punk (feat. Pharrell Williams), – “Get Lucky”
Drake – “Started From The Bottom”
    Eminem – “Not Afraid”
    Fly Union – “Long Run”
    Gorillaz – “Clint Eastwood”
    Imagine Dragons – “Radioactive”
Jada Kiss (feat. Ayanna Irish) – “Can’t Stop Me”
    Jay Z – “The Ruler’s Back”
John Legend (feat. Rick Ross) – “Who Do We Think We Are”
Kanye West – “All Of The Lights”
Kendrick Lamar – “Now Or Never”
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (feat. Ray Dalton) – “Can’t Hold Us”
Nas (feat. Puff Daddy) – “Hate Me Now”
Phil Collins – “In The Air Tonight”
Robin Thicke (feat. Pharrell) – “Blurred Lines”
    The Black Keys – “Elevator”
The Black Keys – “Howlin’ For You”

Having a song like Phil Collins – “In the Air Tonight” in NBA 2K is legendary. I used to listen to that song on my old iPod touch to warm up for some games back in the day. I am definitely glad that it made its way into an NBA 2K soundtrack.

I’m also pretty stoked to listen to Eminem while playing basketball. Seems legit.

Hate Me Now is great choice. Not only because it pumps you up, but those lyrics have LeBron written all over them

My wish was that when you create a player, they would play this track when selecting your hair…

Is it true that  Chris Bosh’s request of "Trey Songz – Dive In" got denied multiple times.

More and more songsI know appear in NBA 2K games each year. Since I know so many I might put in my two cents on the soundtrack that’ll fill our ears for the next year or so…

Could have picked a better Coldplay song than Lost but glad to see they’re in there.

Eminem is a good move and while I’m not familiar with this song of Jay-Z’s I was content with his 2k13 songs so I’m hopeful. All of the Lights is also a good choice.

The only Drake song I kind of like is Headlines which could have been included. Started from the Bottom’s message is perhaps a better tone for the game but that won’t make me like it.

On a move positive note Can’t Hold Us is one of my favourite songs at the moment but Wing$ is another Macklemore song I would have liked included.

Get Lucky and Blurred Lines are basically in there because of their popularity. I don’t mind Get Lucky but is there a way to remove songs from the playlist because I’m not going to survive having the randomly listen to Blurred Lines every couple of hours.?

Radioactive is awesome. So is every other Imagine Dragon’s song. Thank you Lebron James.

Could have picked some better Black Keys songs but I’m happy that they’re included in the soundtrack.

Phil Collins and John Legend provide a nice contrast to the the rest of the upbeat music in the soundtrack. Nice move LBJ.

Just wondering, is bad that my respect for a player has risen based on his taste in music?

I actually didn’t mind this soundtrack, would be cool though if they let the fans create the soundtrack (by voting and stuff) good choices though from LBJ.

I just hope they don’t dub down all these songs as bad as last years. When they pick songs they need to be wary of curse words/references cuz they end up getting taken out and make a lot of songs bad in game.

Man 2k13s version of Mercy was absolutely terrible it had to be worse than any radio edit of any song ive ever heard.

"Give her that *WAAHHHHH* cause that’s where I was born and raised in"

     P.S.

that’s wizkid on the camera work…notice how calm he gets right before Kanyes verse and how his swag levels escalates until he completely loses his sh*% and goes HAM sandwich.

    These albums are always cheesy.

I have no problem with LeBron picking mostly radio hits for the soundtrack, I actually had a bigger problem with Jay Z, someone who should know a lot about music picking a pretty fricken lame list last year.

All of his own songs minus One to the Next One were poor. From Kanye, he picked “We Major” which was honestly one of my least favorite Yeezy songs ever and that aforementioned horrible Mercy remix.

He picked two instrumentals that were just plain boring.

He picked Viva La Vida, which would have been fine, if it was NBA 2k8.

Honestly, outside of the Daft Punk song and Shook Ones Part II, that soundtrack was a complete disaster. Just random mostly dated songs from different artists he likes.

At least LeBron’s list is more relevant. He still has “Not Afraid” in there, which hasn’t been cool since (well never for me) 2010. But overall this what people probably want to hear.

It still beats Madden that just continues to put up awful tracklists.

^ NBA Street 2’s soundtrack was best for me.

I’m glad to see Clint Eastwood and Radioactive on there though.

Eminem is good too, but IMO Infinite would’ve been much better than Not Afraid, although no one knows about that song…it might be his best song in a lyrical sense. Lose Yourself would obviously been a good choice too.

All in all, a much better soundtrack than last year I’d say
