FutureNBAGMParticipantI assume most of you heard of LeBrons vow to break out of his slump tomorrow. How do you think he’ll do? Personally, I don’t care if he goes for 60 as long as the end result is a 3-1 lead for the Spurs.

FearTheStacheParticipantI’m calling it right now. Lebron will have a game for the ages. Better than with Celtics Game 6. He’ll hit his jumpers, and that will ruin the Spurs D. Then, he’ll be able to just penetrate and destroy. Calling it now.

SnowtaParticipant“Better than with Celtics Game 6” haha you’re joking right? So you’re saying Lebron is going to score more than 45 pts on better than 19-26 shooting? I can personally guarantee that doesn’t happen.

db24kb24ParticipantPop will play a similar defense. If LBJ can hit jumpers he will score but he will reinforce to his guys to keep him out of the paint and off of the ft line.
James-
I think that LJ should attack early off the dribble. He shouldn’t wait to read the D, just put his head down and play off instinct. Right now he’s thinking too much and it’s painful to watch for a player of his ability. Also, Spo should get him the ball closer to the basket so SA can’t easily double. Get back to screen and rolls and posting.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/12/2013 - 3:42pm #796035

SpacegrassParticipantIf he doesn’t hit at least 3-4 3 pointers on a 40% plus clip he is going to struggle some. Spo doesn’t have the offensive where with all to come up with anything on offense consistently other than try and force turnovers for easy offense. If the Spurs do like games 1 and 3 and make Miami beat them offensively in the half court and pack it in defensively on everyone other than Miller and Allen this gonna be 3-1 Spurs. Plus Miller on the court while it creates spacing it makes the Heat vulnerable defensively and rebounding the ball.

JmpasqParticipantLebron is shooting 52/211 (24.6%) outside the restricted area through 18 career finals game.

Chilbert arenasParticipantFor the sake of the series and basketball fans everywhere I hope he goes off and the Heat win. I understand there’s a good amount of Lebron haters out there but I want as much basketball as possible. The way I see it if the Spurs win tomorrow the series is as good as over and then as a sports fan I’m stuck in the dog days of summer baseball until football starts., (In terms of live sports, the NBA draft is my favorite day of the year and have a party for it every year)

FutureNBAGMParticipantI say he goes for 30-35 pts on over 50% shooting. Still doesnt mean Miami will even the series though.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think it all starts at the defensive end for the Heat and then getting out in transition. IF they can get LeBron some easy baskets, then the jumper will start falling. Next the lanes will open up.
I don’t know if LeBron will have a huge game like he did vs the Celtics last season, but I think he’ll be more aggressive. The Spurs are really defending him well though. Both individually and as a team. I love the strategy to let him shoot.

SnowtaParticipantCan somebody please give Kwahi Leonard some credit??!! Everyone acts like Lebron has just played really bad and he can easily turn it on and go off at anytime. Does anyone ever consider that Kwahi is probably the best wing defender in the league and maybe Lebron won’t be able to have an unreal game in this series like last year in the ECF. This guy has a 7’4″ wingspan, he’s super quick laterally, and strong as hell for his size. He’s a hell of a lot better defender than Paul Pierce, so those of you predicting he’s gonna have another game like that game 6 last year, it’s not gonna happen. I’m just sick of people acting like Lebron’s gonna flip this switch and become unstoppable in this series. There’s a reason he’s played terrible in this series and it’s because of Kwahi. Give him some damn credit.

brandonmaceyParticipantI’m gonna barf.. you think ppl hype up lbj to much? all this khawhi love is making me nauseous. best wing defender in the league? most underrated player in the playoffs? my spurs fanboi sense is tingling. lebrons terrible stat lines are career games for kawhi.

Bmore_DCParticipant^^^Thank you @AJY52
Either way, its easier said than done. Its not easy to score on Pops defenses. Thats because its never the same defense. If you watch, they are throwing different looks at LeBron every time down. Theyll switch on picks for awhile, then not. They give him space, then they are all in his grill. The Heat seem to get out-coached in these Finals when the games slow down. i.e. Mavs series.
Bottom line, DWade and Bosh have got to step up.

KayjayParticipantLeonard is an excellent defender, but it takes more than one man to shut down LeBron James. LeBron destroys him in the post and gets help every time. Its team defense. Every time Bron even attempts to do anything offensively the spurs set out on stopping him defensively. Why do you think so many other guys are getting wide open jump shots? Because they are relatively ignoring everybody but LeBron James. Quit over exaggerating, its unsightly to give one player complete credit for shutting down one of the leagues best players.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantLeonard is guarding James but he’s giving him 5 feet of room and the open jumper and not allowing him to drive. Unless he can start hitting some of those the Heat are in serious trouble.
The fact that James looks too scared to take the open shot makes me laugh when people are still trying to help ESPN convince everyone Lebron is the greatest of all-time.

XYRYXParticipantReally want to know what was D-Wades answer to this question???
As long as the Heat don’t start to rebound better and Wade doesn’t start beeing himself this doesn’t make a difference. Oh and wasn’t there a 6’11” power finosaur who was once considered elite?
Kawhi won’t let Bron going for a career night happen imo. Most underrated player in this years playoffs.

Cavaliers420ParticipantMan, Lebron needs to be just like Jason Terry was when the Heat played him and wanted Lebron to guard him the entire time, he needs to accept the challenge. Embrace it and battle back from it, JT still got off EVEN with Lebron guarding him and I know Lebron can do the same. Not even a Lebron fan, just how Superstars should/can perform.

CynthiaParticipantIt really doesn’t matter whether LeBron has a monster game or not, the Heat as a whole need to step it up or they aren’t going to win. If LeBron goes off and no one else does then it’s basically the Cavaliers all over again, and guess what the Spurs beat them too.
But on a personal note, guaranteeing something like this is pretty silly, sure if he has a great game his band wagon will say he’s the greatest fortune teller in the world. But if he has another mediocre game he will be criticized to the point of no remorse.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantOf course it matters if LeBron has a monster game. LeBron to have a monster he’ll have nail some jumpers and that’s the only way to loosen up the Spurs defense where he’ll be able to drive and create easy baskets to get his teammates involved.
Otherwise the Spurs will continue to smother the rest of the Heat while LeBron nulifies himself by missing or refusing to take/make the open jumper(s).
