BKKnicksfanParticipantIf the NBA were to cut teams…who do you think they cut?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 7:10am #465545
RUDEBOY_Participantthe cleveland cavaliers ..nobody watches them anymore..they wont be missed
0- Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 7:20am #465548
WizardofOzParticipantThe Cavs shouldn’t be contracted. They are currently second in the league in attendance.
If the NBA had to contract, teams I would consider are the Bobcats, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Hornets, and Kings.

BasketBalAllanParticipantListening to Lebron’s advice on what the NBA should do business wise is like letting Barkley run for governor, or Jordan draft a player in your absence…The only reason James even said that is because he is still trying to defend his choice of going to Miami. It is a bit hypocritical actually, seeing as he opposes lowering the $ amounts of max contracts, which would have the same affect he was purposing (having more than one star player on the same team). He is willing to kill teams to achieve it, but not take less money. If you have to contract a team though, I think the best choice would be the Hornets. It is one thing for a team to struggle to get by when they are terrible, but another thing entirley when they had one of the best starts in the NBA.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI actually like your list, though I hate to see the Kings on it.
Though I almost gave you a negative for forceing me to relive Tli’s batman days…

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt is kind of self-serving given how LeBron’s team is not getting production from their bench that he would bemoan the watering down of the league. If Miami didn’t rank last in the league in bench points, does anyone think he would have this sentiment?

sacphil_08Participantno one asked lebron’s opinion… well no one that cares about anything other than interviewing lebron on anything they could think of… who does he think he is? naming players and saying they should leave their respective teams and play for other teams with "multiple superstars" he’s trying to kiss his own ass and hope everyone else does the same. if he was really not worried about what people think of him the way he claims then he wouldnt be saying this crap… he needs to grow up
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 10:25am #465580
Ghost01ParticipantI would love if 2 of the 3 following teams: Grizzlies, Hornets, and T Wolves were contracted.
Regardless of if how Lebron suggested this was right or wrong, the league has a few too many teams. Just subtracting a couple would help lessen the amount of horrible teams in the league.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 10:45am #465586
Tha_PrinceParticipantTimberwolves
Kings
Bobcats
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 11:15am #465589
TC_42ParticipantThis is a bit of a scary proposition. Can you imagine someone suggesting the Kings be cut 10 years ago? The Bibby, Christie, Peja, Divac, etc years? It really isn’t that long ago. If there is contraction, you run the risk of eliminating a team that hasn’t been relevant/supported only recently. I would only be ok with cutting the Griz and/or Bobcats because they have no tradition and little success. I would still hate to see the Griz cut though.

CodySLCParticipantI dont think any teams should be cut. If anything i think they should cut the number of games.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 11:26am #465593
NYK2010ParticipantGood pt. cut the number of games but owners are too greedy won’t give up the money.
Also its doubtful players will take a pay cut either.
Of the 4 teams I’d consider Toronto, Memphis, New Orleans and Charlotte.
Get rid of 2 teams and move 2 of them to other cities.
Cavs fans have heart I’m sure if the team does well again they’ll be fine.

IndianaBasketballParticipantEverytime LeBron opens his mouth, he says something stupid.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 11:41am #465598
bkb77ParticipantIt would be interesting if they cut like 4 teams a made them into like 1 or 2 teams. Would be crazy to see.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 12:04pm #465602
sheltwon3Participantcutting teams is not really that dumb because their are markets that would be better. OKC is new and seems to be doing well. I wonder how many other OKC place their are. I think instead of cutting teams relocation may be key. I also think that Kings can get back to being good but there must be patient and they need to find a coach that is better and developing young talent. No knock on Paul Westphalt but he just happened to wind up in a bad situation.
Bobcats may not disappear but relocate since MJ is owner MJ has a will not quit attitude. Timberwolves actually have promise but thing is their attendance was not good when KG was there in his latter years and it is not like their is a lot to do in Minny when it is too cold to go outdoors for most people.

andxxxParticipantToo many jobs would be lost as a result of contraction it’s a dumb idea
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 12:42pm #465606
IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s an awful idea. LeBron is one self-centered, selfish and unintelligent dude. He’s basically telling his employer to cut jobs. He has his money, so he’s not worried about anybody else.
The player’s union should tell LeBron to shut up and enjoy the millions they’ve fought for him to get.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 12:58pm #465611
BasketBalAllanParticipantI think we should give IndianaBasketball a raise.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 1:15pm #465618
Toronto16ParticipantWhy should Toronto be contracted when they’ve consistently been in the top half of the NBA in attendance since they joined the NBA?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 1:27pm #465623
NYK2010ParticipantToronto should be moved its not a great city for basketball.
Then again Toronto would probably be 4th on that list.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 1:35pm #465624
boxn1ParticipantI understand the thought, but the message is coming from the wrong person. Because if its really about competition…….

Meditated StatesParticipantKid really needs to shut the f&ck up we don’t care what he thinks. He has easily become the most hated player and for good reason. He’s an a$$hole who is full of himself.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 2:50pm #465637
JJeff6ParticipantWho the hell does he think he is… I personally dont give a sh!t about him or his opinions. Especially when they make no sense at all.. I dont think the Nba should retract teams at all.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 4:22pm #465652
marcusfizer21ParticipantI hate the idea of cutting down teams… Why? Why does it need to? It’s good to see some cities having some teams of their own like Charlotte, Cleveland, Toronto, Portland, Minnesota, Memphis… These are small market cities but they have fans there watching their games…
LeBron has done it again…. “spoiling the fans”… “take my talents to South Beach” … “Not a poor sport when I’m not shaking anyone’s hands…” This remark is among the top of LeBron’s stupidity list…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 4:47pm #465656
Malik-UniversalParticipantLeBron can suck on both of my nuts………….
FOR FREEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(no homo intended)

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantI wish the clippers would move there. and if sterling was still the owner at that point they could be the las vegas Jokers… lol
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 6:10pm #465673
ChrischiParticipantLess teams would mean even bigger competition for good players which means even higher contracts.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 12/24/2010 - 9:06pm #465701
balla619ParticipantSo many Lebron haters, owners say their losing money if Kobe said this half you guys wouldn’t rip him.
Grizzlies and Bobcats ever seen their games half the arena is empty.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/25/2010 - 11:02am #465805
IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s because Kobe wouldn’t say something this stupid and especially during a time when the PLAYERS union is fighting for the PLAYERS.
The NBA is the employer and the players are the employees. The employees are supposed to stick together. LeBron, the most popular employee, tells the employer to cut jobs so more of the best workers can work together. He doesn’t say, "Hey… I’ll take less so the star employee from Indianapolis can come to Miami…" Instead he says, "Let’s just cut that company in Indianapolis altogether."
How does that sound?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/25/2010 - 11:04am #465807
BKKnicksfanParticipantI personally believe the NBA should add 2 more NBA teams.
Seattle and Kansas City would be nice and allows more interesting areas to the NBA. In all honesty, I like the bad teams in the NBA. It’s the cheap owners I dislike
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 7:55am #480190
Toronto16Participant32 teams is two too many.
