tblazer_NZParticipantOnly Player in the NBA to have 1200 points and 500 rebounds to date this season. Durant needs 20 more rebounds.
When we talk about top PF his name doesn’t appear often.

Bird_YearsParticipantCall me a hater but there’s a reason why the Blazers will finish 11th in the west this year. Aldridge can’t defend

The reason the blazers will miss the playoffs is they haven’t had a bench that can hold their own until Maynor came, but it still stinks. Also J.J Hickson can’t hold the paint defensively against any team that has a decent 5.

Bird_YearsParticipantI will agree that’s not the only reason that the Blazers are struggling but I’ll stand by my claim that Aldridge is just barely a capable defender and doesn’t help out the Blazers in that department at all. I expect more from an Athletic 6’11” all star
Comparing his defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions) to the Blazers for the last three years:
2013: LMA = 107 Blazers = 108
2012: LMA = 106 Blazers = 106
2011: LMA = 107 Blazers = 107
2010: LMA = 107 Blazers = 107*League average is approximately 104
Obviously this statistic isn’t fool proof, but what can be taken away from it is that LMA has played on a slightly below average defensive team and he doesn’t make them any better defensively.

MkadozaParticipantAldridge is a top 5 PF in the NBA. Hes like David Lee with more offensive versatility in exchange for rebounding prowess. Low turnover, very efficient, even though hes shooting career low FG%.

ph90702Aldridge is an elite second option in my opinion. If there was a franchise player on the perimeter for the Blazers, then they could go far.

Sewok15ParticipantConsidering this team lost Oden and Roy due to injuries they are doing very well. Once they actually get a decent bench they will be a playoff team year in and year out. They could use another scorer off the bench like Korver or Belinelli. If Leonard develops they won’t need to resign Hickson and can focus their money on building a good bench.
