    Brandon Knight entering NBA draft

    ESPN.com news services

Kentucky freshmen Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones and junior DeAndre Liggins have declared for the NBA draft, the school announced on Wednesday.

None of the three have hired an agent or announced plans to do so, leaving open the possibility they could return to Kentucky after testing the waters.

Kentucky reached the Final Four this past season, losing to eventual champions Connecticut in the national semifinal.

Knight, a 6-foot-3 guard, led Kentucky in scoring, setting the program’s freshman scoring record with 657 points, and was named most outstanding player in the NCAA East Regional.

"Playing in the NBA has always been a dream of mine and this is the next step," Knight said in a statement released by the school. "All season long coach [John Calipari] has been tutoring me on the fine points of being a point guard, and now I have an opportunity to put my game on display in front of NBA scouts as a result of my hard work."
