UNCbasketballbumParticipantReally turned back the clock the last 2 games. Perhaps the Hawks comments about him being dirty refueled his competitive spirit. Has really blossomed since moving to the 5.

aamir543ParticipantI love how KG is playing really well, and has been since he start of February, but it ticks me off when EVERBODY always says, "Oh, it’s the move to center that’s helped him". That is far from true, he’s basically been playing Center ever since the Perk trade because niether of the O’Neals have been able to stay healthy, he looked done in Janruary, but now he’s playing inspired ball, love it, but really he’s been playing center for the most part for about 15 months now.

thatshitkrayParticipantCan take away his house, his car, and his money… But you can’t take away his will to win. Always been my favorite player.

Wahoo757ParticipantIt’s not just those last two games, ever since Jermaine O’ Neal got injured and KG was forced to play center his play has really improved. But you’re right, these last two games KG has been partying like it’s 2004: 29 and 14 and 28 and 11 are you kidding me? That’s incredible for a player with that many miles on him.

ZeeProfessorParticipantI think he knows that it’s unlikely that him, Rondo, Pierce and Allen will be together next season which is why all of them are trying to put one last run together. I really hope he keeps this play up, it’ll help them give the Heat a run for their money in the Conference Finals.
Side note: How awesome would it be to watch Garnett vs Duncan in the Finals?? I know they’re not at the peaks of their careers, but that’s two legends competing against each other to possibly get one last championship ring!

GTS 23Participantthe celtics must re-sign KG with a litlle less money, and let ray allen go. bradley’s amazing defense is much more valuable than a couple of 3 pointers( ray allen).

PulseGlazerParticipantKG has always been dominant when he plays near the rim. It’s his madenning tendency to shoot 18-footers that always separated him from Duncan to me. Suddenly he’s playing near the rim again, and, what-a-surprise, good things happen.

CynthiaParticipant@ZeeProfessor: KG vs. Duncan would be a historic and fun event to watch. I wouldn’t mind that matchup at all, I really like and respect both the Spurs and the Celtics. I doubt a matchup like that will happen, in fact it’s very possible neither will make it to the finals. But we can always dream can’t we?
Back to the OP, KG has been showing flashes of old. As I said in an earlier post about dirty players, I don’t think he’s dirty, I think he talks a lot of crap, but I don’t think he’s dirty especially not enough to have made #2 on that list.
As for next year it really depends what he wants, if he truely wants another ring I don’t think Boston is the place for it, there’s a few top-notch teams that could use a center willing to play for a ring and for cheap. Both the Thunder & Heat come to mind. I know the Thunder have Perkins but his contract is too big for the production he gives. Especially with needing some money to sign back Harden & Ibaka they will need to dump some money soon, I think using the amnesty on Perkins & signing Garnett for cheap isn’t a horrible idea at all.
Then there’s the Heat, as we all know they probably more than just about anyone in the entire league need an upgrade at the center position, so this would be an obvious choice for them.
All in all IF he was to go to one of those teams I think I’d prefer see him on the Thunder, I think his style fits the best there, I think he’d compliment Ibaka much more than Bosh.

omphalosParticipantA lot of KG’s resurgence has come from Rondo’s aggressiveness. A lot of his buckets against the Hawks came on catch and shoot mid-range jumpers off feeds from Rondo. They recognised the mismatch he had, and he hasn’t really been forcing it to get his points, they’ve come in the flow of the offense and for the most part he hasn’t had to work particularly hard to get them.
He played great in our last two games, but people shouldn’t expect him to put the team on his back, he’s still just as limited in creating his own shot relative to the old days.
Defensively though, he’s really stepped up to anchor the team, it’s been great to see.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think KG has had to do more too soon and by the time the Finals come if they can get pass the Heat they will be too bang up to be effective.

capecodderParticipantThank goodness you’re not the Celtics GM, with the players you passed up and more appropriate needs

TRC1991ParticipantKG’s been a lights out shooter these playoffs, you’d be hard pressed to find an open shot that KG wont drill

Ghost01ParticipantAs a Bulls fan, how badly I wish Carlos Boozer could revert back to his former self the way KG has done. Unbelievable how well he’s played.
