llperezKevin durant:………27.5ppg…3apg…6.9rpg…1.1stls…42fg%…28%3pt
Russell westbrook: 24 ppg…8.7apg…5.4rpg…2.1stls…44fg%…27%3pt
So which one do you take? The superstar sf who could score 30 on any given night or the athletic pg who can play both ends of the court?

Imaking6004Participantlast year this would of been a pretty easy decision, but this year I’ll take Russell Westbrook by a hair. If I would start a team from the ground up, I would take a PG to build my offense around especially one whos as athletic and well-rounded as Westbrook is. It’s almost unheard of to see a pg drop 38 points, 15 rebounds and also dish 9 assists.

mj23mj23besteverParticipanti am a believer in pg play being so vital to winning championships n rw this year as emerged as an elite level pg but i still think id e durant to build my franchise around hes just the type of guy i want as the face of my team perfect example when he re upped he didnt need the decision he simply posted it on tweeter thanking the fans and the team and thats my type of superstar

SteroidParticipantI would pick Kevin Durant for the long run mainly because unlike you’ve said, mj23, you can build a great team without a good PG. Most of the great teams in the NBA who dominate the playoffs win mainly because of their big men play, although the league is dominated by a bunch of good guards. All you need is someone who can make good decisions, knock down open shots, and won’t turn the ball over at the PG position for a championship caliber team. I’d rather want KD as the best player on my team than Westbrook.

Meditated StatesParticipantIt’s still easy to me. Westbrook is good, but KD is a little banged up from world championship. Westbrook was on the team too,but Durant carried it. Don’t get crazy yall it’s KD by a lot still.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantDurant. He’s simply the best or second best pure scorer that I’ve watched play.

MuggsyParticipantI agree with scout4real.
Yes Westbrook is doing phenominal this year, but KD has been injured and hasn’t had a chance to even get in rhythm yet, his entire statline will probably increase in a few weeks I believe.
KD is still hands down the franchise player, Westbrook is just an abnormally good sidekick.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLOL..Dont get Carried away Just Yet Fellas!!! Alot of players get on a Hot Streak !! But only Franchise type players remain on the ride..Lets wait and see if Westbrook can maintain this Streak the rest of the season ,like Durant did last year? Durant finished 2nd in MVP votes and became a top 5 player….

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’d go with Kevin Durant, which isn’t difficult for me.
He’s been banged up this season. Sprained ankle. Sprained knee. Plus he was relied on heavily during the world championships.
Give Russell Westbrook some credit for even making this a topic of conversation though.

QUINCEY HODGES1Durant of course. But Westbrook isn’t just on a hot streak he has just become a better player then he was last year.

JJeff6ParticipantKD easily but Westbrook is almost equally as valuable to the Thunder. Cant go wrong either way.

MelParticipantI’ve watched almost all OKC and RW has carried the load, especially in the 4th quarter. His quick burst into the lane is damn near unstoppable and he gets to the line just as much as KD does now.
KD is nicked up, you can tell. Lets hope his body can handle it because he is still really skinny.
A lot of people compared him to T-Mac, hope his body doesnt give out on him too.
If RW had the jumper Rose has now, I’d take RW. He is averaging 24 and he is no where near the offensive player KD is, but a way better defender than KD at this point.

andxxxParticipantI’d choose KD because teams that win tend to have elite wings or 2 guards rather than PG, but Westbrook is a beast and if anyone watched the playoffs last year it looked like Westbrook was actually outperforming Durant and has continued to do so this season

ilike.panochasParticipantIf Kevin Durrant can bring his 3point percentage back up to the 36%-40%, I would take him. The guy is like Nowitzki/TMac with his height, skills and shooting ability. Hes not shooting the 3 pointer very well this year, but if he can return to form like last year, then this is an easy choice for Durant.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think Durant is in a slump and he is still playing enough to get MVP consideration so I have to go with him unless he does not get out of this slump anytime soon. He should be shooting better especially with Westbrook being a bigger threat.

darkman97ParticipantQuick question to settle this topic.
Name some great PG’s that came out after or same time asWestbrook that compares in game and potential?
Rose, Evans, Curry, Jennings?
Now name the SF’s that came out after or same time as Durant that compares in game and potential?
???? Maybe Beasley

joecheck88Participantits kevin durant all day. westbrook has been great all year. but its safe to say that westbrook is playing out of his mind and durant is struggling and the numbers are still close. kd is a rare player. and point guards have been dominating this year. deron williams, chris paul, russell westbrook, derrick rose, tony parker, and rajon rondo all playing well this year. kd is struggling and still an mvp candidate. he will get healthy and get his stroke back and will be a top 5 mvp candidate again, where i see russell westbrook diminishing some(just a little) as the season goes on. westbrook will probably finish around 21ppg, 5rpg, and 8.5apg for the season with similar shooting numbers. whereas durant should finish the year around 29ppg, 7.5rpg, 3apg with his numbers shooting wise rising.
