I like Kawhi..but he’s hurting these two teams right now..waiting on him to make a decesion all of the Free agents are signing elsewhere. IF the Lakers don’t land Kawhi, who is left out there to sign???

Was thinking the same thing. I feel whoever doesn’t get him will sign Boogie. I’m just hoping he resigns with the Raptors and then one of the LA teams will get screwed pretty hard.

This is a media-driven story. The Clippers might not take a step forward, that is the risk of free agency just ask the Knicks, but their cap room didn’t really come from major contributors whose contracts expired. Replacing Garrett Temple is not exactly going to be a problem, even at this point.

The Lakers are fine. People seem to be of the belief that the role player market is empty, but it just isn’t. They are going to get the LeBron guys. Marcus and Markieff Morris are Rich Paul clients. Neither have been signed. Given the year Marcus is coming off, the fact that he has not signed yet is probably by choice. J.R. Smith isn’t free yet, but he is a Rich Paul client. Melo is LeBron’s guy. KCP has been stealing checks from the Lakers as a Rich Paul client. Quinn Cook is available, and is kind of Seth Curry with a less famous family. Frankly, J.J. Redick is going to be available in February when people realize the Pelicans are a 30-win team. Cousins is around, and part of me wonders if that is something Davis wants to see so that he has someone else to lean on the full sized centers. Then again, with it being clear Danny Green is waiting to see whether Toronto is going to run it back, I wouldn’t be surprised if Marc Gasol has a bit of a wink wink agreement with Toronto to be traded should Kawhi end up elsewhere.

    That is true
But also, it isn’t really his problem. If a team is worried they can withdraw their offer and move on at any time.
Clippers actually made couple of moves and didn’t wait (Beverly & Harkless)
Kawhi taking his time is the normal, in past decade or so big name free agents took plenty of time. This is the 1st time we knew where everyone was going 6 hours before the free agency started.
Hell, there might be a chance he didn’t accept tampering and that is the reason he is taking his time now (just speculation from my behalf)

have a solid squad so it’ll work out – Kawhi just played like a pack mule & single handedly won a Ring for Canada & the Raptors

So he derved a Vaca & I think people can understand why he’s a little behind everyone else who signed

and he’s not that late – I mean FA started about 40 hours ago – Sunday at 6 pm. It’s still only Tues while I’m writing this

Kawhi is pretty much a lock to the Lakers if you’re deep into insiders. Raps will have the last meeting, but most likely he’s giving them this meeting out of respect to announce he will be a Laker. Clippers chose to wait, it was a big gamble, but it is Kawhi so he was worth it.

The "insiders" also ran with Jimmy Butler to Houston and the Knicks being locks for Kevin Durant. They listen to who talks to them. By all accounts, Kawhi doesn’t talk, so it is the Lakers who are talking to them. It doesn’t mean Kawhi isn’t headed to the Lakers, but it isn’t exactly a neutral source spreading that confidence.

It happens. I mean, even Seattle Superchronics was wrong about Kyrie going to the Lakers.

Kawhi should wait another month. Doesn’t matter to him. Some people need to get their deals or teams will use the space. He don’t need to stress. He can keep being a fun guy cos board man gonna get paid anyway.

If I was kawhi I’d chose Toronto. Clippers would be second. Stay away from the delusional Lakers fans. Lakers games are a circus. There’s no competitive atmosphere.

You’ve made some questionable posts on here from time to time… but this isn’t one of them. Couldn’t agree more. Should resign in Toronto. Ready made championship contender.

I think part of the delay is that Kawhi genuinely did not start making a decision until late June. When he said he hasnt put much thought into, hes focusing on winning, hes celebrating winning, hes enjoying the city after winning he was telling the truth. Its obvious that for guys like Kyrie and KD the process started well before June.

Also he may just be trying to enjoy the process. Like when top highschool players are being recruited they enjoy colleges rolling out the red carpet. Even if they know where they are going they still like to do the visits. Theres also the political/buisness aspect behind it. Kawhi’s uncle has his hand in things and likely promised his "good friend" Magic he would get him a visit. Then the Lakers (bunch of genuises they are) canned Magic so now the visits are being seperated one indepedently with Magic and Kawhi one with Pelinka Jeanie Buss and Kawhi and probably a night out with AD and LBJ.

Honestly with the way things have played themselves out I wouldve thought Lakers had a chance but after they fired Magic I doubt Kawhi signs there. Unless Magic is getting rehired in some fashion as a consultant or something.

Still think hes resigning with Toronto.
