So, Kansas signed Tarik Black, adding another dangerous piece, my question to you guys, who do you think is the better team? I know we can’t really decide until we see them take the floor, but on paper at least.

Kansas has the #1 center in the class in Joel Embiid, paired with Black and Wiggins, they have probably the best front court in the nation! I also personally like Seldon’s game over James Young, although I understand both are very talented players.

Kentucky has the back court advantage overall though.

As much as I love Julius Randle, I really think Kansas is the team to beat…. You can call me crazy, but I sureeeeee hope they meet up this year. That would be incredible basketball.

Self did say in an interview he would be playing the 2 and 3 for the most part, but occasionally will have Wiggins bring the ball up to make plays. Given this is Mr. Wiggins team, I’m sure we’ll see it come to fruition.

I don’t. Wiggins isn’t a good ball-handler and isn’t much of a playmaker. They have 3 guys capable of handling the ball with Naadir Tharpe, Conner Frankamp and Frank Mason.
The starting spot might go to Tharpe at based on seniority and defense but I like Frankamp more because Tharpe tends to play wild. Frankamp looks like a mature player, a steady decision maker and is a lights out shooter which I think they’ll need in their starting lineup. I was really impressed by his play with Team USA. He’s more of a shooter/scorer than a distributor but I think he can have a similar impact as Kevin Pangos last yr if given similar minutes.

I agree with most talent wise UK is ahead of KU espescially off the bench. Ego wise UK is also ahead of KU which is not a good thing. think UK is going to have a harder time geling. Plus I think Self>Calapari when it comes to in game coaching.

etc etc, But the point guard play is gonna be the key again. The common assupmtion is that Harrison is going to have a seemless transition to the NCAA level. Thats not a definate though or could simply take time. I still go with Kentucky as a nod to Randle, I like Stein also upfront.

How could you not give the advantage to Kentucky. Last year and even some of you this year were saying how Kentucky can’t win it with Freshman, then it was if they get Wiggins they will win it all. Make up your minds. Now its, Kansas’s roster looks better. What a joke. Kentucky’s roster has guys who played major minutes last year and it resembles the roster they had when they won it all. Wiltjer(Jr has won a title, played big mins and can hit the 3 ball) Poythress(Sophomore played good mins and has no choice, but to get better.the potential is there. Project first round next year) Cauley-Stein (Sophomore played big mins and improved drastically potential Top 8 pick in this draft. If you pare them with the freshman what holes do you have? They are are deeper then any team in America. Quit hating on Kentucky and give Cal and his staff props for what they have assembled this year. If Pitino can play 9 or 10, how come Cal cant? UK on paper should definitely be better. They are deeper at guard and just flat out better in the frontcourt. Randle/Poythress/WCS/Johnson/Wiltjer are way better than Ellis, Embiid (all raw ability), Black (didn’t even start for Memphis) and Wiggins.
