the_truth34ParticipantWith Jarret jack playing well beating out jose calderon for the starting spot i was thinking that the raptors would be more flexible for trades with him so i thought this trade up between the pistons and the raptors that helps both sides tell me what you think?

Adi JosephI’m not sure I’d want Jack to be my only point guard, for a number of reasons. He’s not much of a passer, he turns the ball over too much and for someone of his size and strength, he’s a terrible rebounder.
Jack is a scoring point guard and valuable defender. Calderon is an efficiency machine, a passer who rarely misses the few shots he takes and sets up teammates. They’re a great complimentary pair, regardless of who starts.
In addition, Jack can get lazy, and Calderon pushes him.

the I in winParticipantIn that trade jack wouldn’t be the only point. Will Bynum is no throw in, he is a very good scorer and was the 4th quarter guy last year for the pistons. With that said i don’t think this trade is good for Detroit. If they are to move Rip i’m sure they want it to be in an effort to save money and with this they don’t. I also don’t think Detroit would want Jose Calderon, liability on defence and doesn’t bring scoring to the table.
If i had a choice between Jose Calderon and a bottle of Jose Cuervo i would take the Cuervo.

R-Dot-13Participantmeh, i like bynum, but im a huge Belinelli fan and would love to keep him on our team.
I think he can turn into a great player with the right PT.
He never got a chance to play in GS and now when he plays in Toronto he performs.0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/25/2010 - 2:26pm #250776
dmo21Participantthe raptors are good how they are and are just getting chemistry together and have their line up in order.. whats the problem with having two pgs who could start? they both bring different styles to the game and its nice to have that insurance if one does go down, because you dont want bank playing many minutes haha.. Also, this is very similar to the ford/calderon situation a couple years ago when they made the playoffs, they decided ford was expendable, traded him and they havent made the playoffs since.. i like the double point guard combination.
