HotSnotParticipantCouldn’t agree more. The commentators kept saying he got tougher… he didn’t get tougher, he just yells more and then flops very frequently. I didn’t know that was what tough was. Gasol and Fisher… brothers from a different mother.

McWinningParticipantUnfortunetly hes the most skilled big man in basketball….. i loved when he went up for a shot, faded away, and it meekly went in (his feet even hit the ground before he let it go) and then walked down the court roaring like the lion kind, and beating his chest like Mohammad Ali.

Leftovers16ParticipantIf u hoop at all and is a smaller player when u have to guard a bigger dude do u try to out muscle him when u can’t or do u try to get a call to help u out? If u hoop at all u would understand why people flop

bobforteParticipanti agree, but all the lakers whine when something is called against them. And yes it is very annoying but they were the better team tonight so congrats.

Counting StarsParticipantPau Gasol is one of the most successful actors in LA and hasn’t (to my knowledge) been in a movie.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantI notice most of the players that flops in that video besides Varejao plays for the western conference. Kinda weird.

mikeyvthedonParticipantPlayed a softer game, most definitely. While they knew how to create slightly more space, they were much more of a shooting team. Not to mention, as many times as Gasol may have flopped, Paul Pierce was BAD this game. He tried to get everything. Neither team had flow, and LA just played tougher inside, most definitely. Plus, with LA’s length, plus the fact they have Kobe Bryant, they are just going to get fouled more, unless they just play the perimeter the whole game. Boston had numerous chances, but they were squandered by poor shooting and missed opportunities. They played it way to safe the entire game and created no flow. Plus, if they really wanted to get to the line, the best player at doing that would be Rondo, who just got to the point where he was scared to go to the free throw line. When you are as effective at free throw shooting, actually in this series less effective, than Shaquille O’Neal, than i guess you should be. Kid made a huge 3 pointer, and is a great player, but man, he will not be the best point in the league until he hits a 65-70 percent clip instead of mid to low 50’s.

bobbybParticipantI think it is so funny that people call Gasol a flopper when Pierce is the biggest flopper in the league

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantnah I’ll give that title to varejao.

Leftovers16ParticipantThatguy needs a mirror so he can complain to it on how much he hates flopping maybe then u can get people to care… The funny thing is if Boston won he wouldve been celebrating instead of wasting his time looking for flopping videos u know u can actually develop flopping skills watching too much of it then u might start hating urself

0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/17/2010 - 8:02pm #334700
sheltwon3ParticipantPeople flop because sometimes refs will not make calls unless it looks like you were hit even though you can be hit and not look it. Some player go overboard.
Paul Pierce fall over and flops and gets to the line a lot that way.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/17/2010 - 8:52pm #334717
BiggysmallsParticipantMaybe Gasol does flop sometimes, but get the frick over it. Every player in the NBA flops. Every single one. Yeah Ginobli and Varajeo go a little too far with it, and to an extent both Pierce and Gasol do as well, but goodness sakes everybody flops. Yeah its annoying, but its kinda become a part of the game nowadays. Charges wouldnt exist if it werent for flopping.
Pau is a stud, plain and simple and he dominated that game late. He really dominated the playoffs all the way through for the Lakers.
And to the idiot who says he didnt get tougher…shut the hell up and watch basketball, and while your at it, learn something about it. Toughness is more mental than it is physical. The 2008 Gasol wouldve been completely mentally out of this series, and would have been physically manhandles like he was in 08…that wasnt the case because he toughened up.
