Tha game is changing fast & I love it. It’s moving to a positionless style & now more than ever, skill is required to stay on tha court. Having a guy that could play more than one spot was a luxury, but now it’s turning into a requirement.

In this class, at tha top we have a 6’10 do-it-all player in Ben Simmons. Maybe not a LeBRon/Magic type just quite, but he’s better than Lamar Odom. I compare him to a bigger Grant Hill. I look at tha impact Draymond Green’s having & I just can’t help but think about what if Hill, or Magic, or Bird, or Odom were playing today….we’ll get a taste of that with Simmons.

I think Ingram’s going to be an absolute stud in tha PG mold…super young, super long & super talented. Is going to be able to play multiple spots.

I love Dwayne Bacon also, It’s rare when a guy has high level athleticism & high level ball skills. Great frame & a scorer’s swagger. I think he’ll be one of those two guards that has tha offense ran through him (MJ, Kobe, Harden, Steve Smith, McGrady). Can get wherever he wants on tha court & his game is still rounding out.

Then, this 2016 high school class has tha best crop of point guards ever.

Dennis Smith looks like a young Steve Francis.

De’Aaron Fox is a blur & a nice defender, he looks a bit like Wall.

Lonzo Ball plays like a young J.Kidd with how he orchestrates on tha break. Best passer in tha country.

Kobi Simmons isn’t getting a lot of hype, but I like him a lot also. He’s big, super athletic & crafty. He can really see tha court.

    Seventh Woods is a freak.

It also has a couple of great wing players in Jayson Tatum & Josh Jackson.

Tatum is a polished scorer with an all-around game. His game’s very smooth.

Jackson plays so hard. He has tha highest cieling of all tha guys, he just has to be consistent with it. He’s Andrew Wiggins with ball skills.

Thon Maker’s a really skilled 7 footer. I think he’s a better prospect than any big in this current draft class.

Combine these two classes with every other class since 2010 & you see a lot of talent entering tha league. Its crazy how many players are coming in. This is tha deepest that tha point guard & wing positions have ever been. Tha center position is on a comeback with, arguably, tha two most gifted bigs of all time playing now in Boogie & Brow. I’m not saying they’re tha best ever, just that they are as TALENTED as any bigs we’ve seen. Tha league is getting deep. Are we entering another golden era?

Very good analysis.. Add in Harry Giles from 2016 and Michael Porter and Trae Young from that 2017 class.. But yeah Simmons, Ingram and Bacon could be franchise guys.. I would add Skal in there too if he gets his focus on and plays tougher.. It is crazy to think that

to say Anthony Davis and Cousins are most skilled bigmen ever…dude Shaq would rip both of them apart with his strength.  Have you heard of a guy named Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Hakeem Olajuwon?

Also, Jahlil has the best post-moves, better than Anthony Davis (a 7′ guard playing in the post), and Cousins.  Cousins is that good because of his arm length which is freakish, but otherwise IQ-wise, he severely lacks.  Jahlil also has much better moves than Cousins.

Straight dumbassness! Best point guards ever? Golden era? Guys who weren’t even all stars in the 80s &,90s would be all stars now. Kenny the jet Smith would definitely have been one of the better pgs in.this era. The only reason bugs who play like guards are so rare and coveted. In today’s game is because after kukoc&,sabonis, & dirk gms started to want players like them, also a bigger reason most bigs are underdeveloped in the post now. A true dominant big doesn’t have to give up the ball.after a soft double team like in this new era. Shaq,Kareem, basically any hof center pre 2000s would destroy these soft double teams. Bugs who play on.the perimeter are not better, regardless if you cam make the 3ball or not, a 3-5,foot shot will always be easier than a 22 ft shot, especially for a 4 or 5, doesn’t matter if your curry or drummond actually.

Young whipper snappers can’t blame y’all for overlooking the basics when the basics have become very complicated

its not the golden era at all..the lakers, celtics and pistons of the 80s would destroy today’s teams..those teams had alot of hall of fame talent ,players with high iqs that knew how to play the game the right way..most teams with the superstar ball stoppers, who constantly go 1 on 1 while their teammates stand around watching them rarely win titles.

i think better team play and ball movement are 2 of the reasons why teams like the warriors, spurs and most of the teams of the 80’s that won titles.

I think were headed into a Golden Era.. The 2010-2019 draft classes classes will compare favorably to the previous decades, there’s no doubt in my mind.

Old people love to hype ‘their’ generation, nostalgia clouds their vision… I firmly believe the players these days are getting bigger/faster/stronger and more skilled at an earlier age for a cornucopia of reasons.. The main one being competition.

HS class of 2016 is crazy guard heavy and there’s so much depth to the class that there’s sure to be plenty of suprise 4-star players that outplay their HS ranking in a major way, Andrew Jones(Texas commit) has already accomplished this, he wasn’t even ranked too long ago(overlooked while he was sitting out recovering from a knee injury) and he’s going to make a run at the top-10 in the class before the dust settles…

2017’s clearly loaded with high end bigman prospects… 2018 IMO will be loaded on the wing..

Bender, Luwawu, Qi, Jeanne, Zubac, Korkmaz, Nitilikina, Yurtseven, Sedekerskis, Doncic, Musa, Mamukelashvili, Jankovic and surely plenty of late-bloomers mean the international classes will be strong aswell (especially vs crops from previous decades).

The truth is this decades draft classes already stack up well vs previous ones, and we’re just halfway thru.. Add some of these future names in with the likes of; Wall, Favors, Cousins, Hayward, George, Whiteside, Kyrie, Klay, Kahwi, Mirotic, Butler, AD, Beal, Lillard, Barnes, Middleton, Draymond, Gobert, Antetekounmpo, McCollum, Wiggins, Towns, Porzingis (to name a few)…There’s clearly cavalcade of star power, that surely won’t be slowing down anytime soon…

Well DUMBASS…I never said they were tha best or tha most skilled. I said GIFTED. I never saw Shaq or any other center make multiple 3’s. I never saw Kareem do it either. Hakeem either. Again…I said gifted. I’ve never seen any of them euro step. And guards that aren’t all stars now are great too. Bledsoe & Knight have never made allstar teams & look at their numbers. How are we not in a golden era when you have multiple guys 6’9 or bigger leading breaks or dishing no looks? We’re in an era where a guy like Rondo that’s flirting with triple doubles every night isn’t even being considered for tha all star team. Westbrook’s averaging 26/7/9 right now…no point guard has done that since Magic averaged 24/7/13.

were you literally born yesterday???? I’m sorry, but guys like Kareem, Hakeem and Shaq would absolutely man handle most centers today with skill and strength. Cousins would get abused by anyone of those 3 in both IQ, strength, skill and everything else. Can anyone else picture Hakeem unleashing his arsenal of post moves on cousins, cousins getting frustrated, throwing a fit like a 2 year old and getting ejected from every game they play.

The only center today that might have a shot believe it or not is Okafor, but that could take at least 5 years if he is displined and works on his overall game.

Bullshit.  Whiteside and when Gobert hits his prime… You think those players would just get man-handled by the old C’s????? LOL

Precisely what I was talking about when I said  "Nostalgia clouds their vision"

I agree with most of that, but really, Jahlil could hang with them but not KAT? Okafor would get eaten alive defensively. Towns might not be able to get buckets in the post as well as Jahlil, but he could still bring it out to midrange and can hold his own on defense. Plus he’s a great passer. Plus Drummond wouldn’t make it easy, and Marc Gasol wouldn’t be a slouch either. I also don’t agree that Cousins would get bullied, he’s too talented; if he kept his cool, he wouldn’t have his way with anyone, but he wouldn’t be a joke either

This is a golden era.  We have generational talents on their way out like Kobe, Tim, Dirk and KG (at least some of whom areplaying at a high level), we have a truly elite all time player at the tail end of his prime and two more potential all timers in KD and Curry enterring their prime. Several amazing young players look to be great, like AD, Drummond, Porzingis, and Towns.  The best defensive 5 since Mutumbo (Gobert), rebounder since Moses (Drummond), and defensive wing since Pippem (Kawhi).  The most athletic point guard ever? Westbrook.  The best pure point since Isiah?  Paul. We have 4 seriously elite teams in the Spurs, Cavs, Thunder and Warriors and a huge teir right below that can make the leap with the right moves.

What more could you possibly want?

I honestly hate the way the game is going. I wish more than anything to have been able to watch basketball at this age in the 80s and 90s.
