Now that the majority of the free agents have agreed to terms with teams, all the teams still have some roster spots to fill. I’m just wondering who you want your team to realistically pick up to fill those last spots. Here’s my choices for the Raptors, current lineup: PG: Lowry, Wright, Ridnour (can be waived I believe) SG: DeRozan, Ross SF: Carroll, Johnson, Caboclo PF: Patterson, Biyombo C: Valanciunas, Nogueria

The guys I want them to pick up:

Stuckey, to be the instant offense player off the bench (replacing Williams). Helps that he has the size to play the 1 and the 2.

Cole (if Ridnour gets dropped), young solid point guard. Would have said Joseph but I think he will cost too much.

Arthur, veteran power forward who can stretch the floor a bit, rebound hard, and play tough defense. I was hoping they’d get a big upgrade at power forward this summer, but that ship has sailed. Seraphin, we need a big body who can handle a big man. Valanciunas isn’t strong enough and sometimes struggles when playing against guys with size/girth.

Seraphin would be a nice big body to throw at them (used to use Hayes and Gray in this role). Plus he’s still quite young.

I actually want Laker to take a look at Arthur because he is a very good rebounder and athletic unless we bring Hill back.

     Current Hawks Roster:

    PG: Jeff Teague/Dennis Schroeder/Shelvin Mack
    SG: Kyle Korver/Tim Hardaway Jr.
    SF:  Kent Bazmore/Thabo Sefelosha
    PF: Paul Millsap/Mike Scott/Mike Muscala
    C: Al Horford/Thiago Splitter/Walter Tavares

Obviously the PG/PF/C spots are deep and need no further improvements. It’s the 2 and 3 spots that need some work. A lot will hinge on if Sefelosha can come back this year and contribute. I do expect an increased role from Kent Bazmore.

The #1 priority out left would be to sign a 3 and D guy to help fill the void of Carroll. Alan Anderson or Rasual Butler makes the most sense for the direction the Hawks want to go, I’ve heard Wes Johnson’s name thrown out but I guy I hope the Hawks pick up is Justin Holiday. Didn’t really get a chance to play for the Warriors but I think given more opportunity he can develop.

Well right now the Celtics are stacked, and their roster is pretty much set, so I would expect some trades coming. I really wanted Robin Lopez or Biyombo in green, but that isn’t possible anymore, so I would like them to try and go after:

Jordon Hill- He’s not the best player in the world, but he brings rebounding, athleticism, and size to a team that desperately needs it. He averaged 12/8 last year, and could be a nice player to have at the right price. He’s a pretty shot defender though, so I wouldn’t go hard after him.

Michael Beasley- He showed me last year that he still has some talent, and he showed better commitment. He isn’t going to be that good, but he’s still versatile, and can give you point in bunches. I wouldn’t be opposed to take a flyer on him in green as another scorer off the bench.

Kevin Seraphin- He’s the player I want the most at this point. He’s not the smartest player in the league, but he can def. play. He’s a good scorer around the basket, and has the ability to block some shots. I would love to take a flyer on him as well.

Pacers have re-signed Stuckey to a 3 yr $21 million deal.

I like what the Pacers have done. Gotta give Bird credit. The Pacers still have money left to add a front court player.

I think it would be a good idea to sign (or sign and trade with Hibbert deal) Jordan Hill. I don’t think Turner is ready to play huge minutes. You can start Hill and Mahinmi, who are two tall athletic bigs. It’s Hills best place if he wants to start/get lots of playing time. Plus, you’d have three Hills on one team.

I don’t think the Pacers want Jordan Hill at the kinda money. They’ll probably go for Brandon Bass or just bring back Luis Scola.

Oh my, oh my… My Knicks that I love/hate so much… We can use… Hmmm… Is Antoine Tyler’s ghost from “The 6th Man" available?… Teen Wolf… Jesus Shuttlesworth… the “other Jesus"? You get the picture.

Coming off our worst season in franchise history, our “BIG" FA acquisition is Robin ‘F$#@&%’ Lopez (4 years/$54 Mil)… Good job at clearing all that cap space Phil to then pledge roughly 50-40% (considering cap increases) of it to Melo and Robin for the next 4 years… How is this roster any better than the one Phil inherited last year? I get that we had to blow it up to be a true contender but this isn’t what I had in mind. Afflalo and O’Quinn were solid additions given their respective asking prices. Jerian will be a decent back up guard. KP will be good… 4 years from now. Beyond that the positives are slim to none. I know this is more “cry post" than “who can help us" lol but I seriously just don’t know of any solutions/acquisitions that can help bring us beyond our now-cemented mediocrity.

Without any big names for NY to sign, I think their best bet is to go with high reward players as they are a win-now team with Melo. I’d look at Lou Will for some instant offense for when Melo isn’t on the floor as Calderon and Afflalo aren’t the best for creating for themselves. For big men, I’d probably take a flyer on two of Bargnani, Beasley, Hill, or Smith. There’s a good chance at least one of those guys will have a pretty good year next year, so why not take the chance.

For one, Melo could play like a "superstar" Melo bobos are claiming him to be. Besides that, Knicks fans have to be patient lik every other rebuilding franchise. They had the 4th pick in the draft. Teams drafting that high rarely turn into contenders the next year, or even playoff teams.

Porzingas needs time, Grant needs time. Afflalo is a nice piece, Lopez is a warm body and Knicks have cap space again next year so Knicks fans just need to stay patient like every other rebuilding teams fanbase.

I’m all about being patient for positive improvement. I know rebuilds take time. I just wish we would make a full commitment in one direction – either full rebuild mode (which we need) or win now mode. Teetering in between is a classic recipe for mediocrity. Drafting KP where we did screams “be patient/we’re rebuilding". Paying Melo (last year) and Lopez what we did screams we’re trying to win now. You only give those guys those contacts if you feel you’re a team that’s a couple pieces away. Don’t get me wrong – we’ve improved. Still, we are no where near contenders at this point. This upcoming year we’re a 5th seed at best – and that’s a dream scenario that has more to do with the EC’s depth. Next summer we could add another max player and still wouldn’t be up there with the upper echelon teams (i.e. Cle; GSW). I just think we need to commit to a total rebuild (trade Melo while he’s still valuable for picks/assests) as the current model is broken. It’s blindly forecasted for us to be contenders at a time when our franchise player (who only plays on one side of the ball) will only be further into decline. We can probably field a pretty good team with further additions to the current troop – but not a championship team. I actually liked that we drafted KP because it showed a commitment to a full/thorough rebuild. The move said “no matter what the fans want – we need this". The moves that followed this summer contradicted that philosophy.
