ballislyfe25ParticipantSolid debut. I honestly haven’t been paying much attention to guys until they get to the college/professional level but he definitely didn’t look overmatched athletically or physically. He was driving to score and make plays for his teammates. Got to love the aggressiveness. At times, he seemed a bit out of control and tried to force shots/passes but that is usually common with young players, especially these athletic, attacking ballhandler types (See: Russell Westbrook).
Looking forward to following his season and tracking his progress. Hopefully the coaching and competition will prepare him well for the NBA.

ahuang16ParticipantPlayed well. He was aggressive and had some nice drives and passes. Interesting to see how he does moving forward.
But Yi Jianlian was there. Didn’t realize it until he caught that lob.

i’m jus so offendedParticipant@hofstra, agreed on the out of control part but if the refs had called some of those fouls, it would have been different and he looked a lot smoother later in the game.

ballislyfe25ParticipantAbsolutely. At the same time, if I’m an NBA scout and Mudiay is a lock for the top 5 and in serious consideration for the #1 pick, I want to see him finish those plays or force the referees to call it. He definitely looked smoother as the game went on, too.

B-ball fanParticipantHe was missing some of those finishes, but I liked that he went right into the body of the defenders. He definitely has some savvy around the rim. His ball-handling looks very good as well, changing speeds and using both hands.

Meditated StatesParticipantNow and playing with Yi without stepping on a college court. Thats very helpful to his development. He is going to be a experienced rookie with good pro habits already. He looks comfortable out there.

MopgrassParticipantI’d say free throws are extremely important for him. If I remember correctly, he shot in the high 50’s, and is the top reason I don’t think he’s a top 3 pick. That’s okay for a C like DHoward, but not a PG. It makes me think his jumper that doesn’t fall isn’t going to start falling. Major concern.
He looks great out there going both directions and getting to the rack. He’s crafty getting there and I think muscle will be the way for him to go because he’s just not that fast. He’s a decent athlete which makes him under average for a PG. I wish he was willing to play a few extra years (in college instead) so he could learn how to shoot from a good coach.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHe is a boy playing with men. That is always hard at first. Getting the rhythm and tempo takes a while. About what I expected. Won’t be the number 1 pick though.

slash787ParticipantYou can tell that he needs to work on finishing with his left hand. He is using his right hand for basically everything around the rim. With that being said it’s something he can improve on but that stood out to me.
