Doug McDermott is a fundamentally sound scorer likely to go in the 8-14 range.  He’s going to provide value from day one in the NBA as a shooter thanks to sound footwork and balance.  He’s also a talented post scorer, although that aspect of his game may or may not translate due to some physical limitations.  Downside is his defense and ball-handling, although that can be mitigated by running him off of screens, which is a skill he has.   What do you guys think of McDermott?  If you’re a fan of a team picking in the 8-14 range, do you want him on your team?

Yes. I’ll be more than satisfied if my team takes Wiggins with the #2 pick, and McDucats with the Pelicans pick.

I am hoping Detroit picks him up with the 8th (so long as we keep the pick obviously).

i think his vert is being overblown, let me tell you someing about mcdermott… he is the best college player in college, i have always said that. he is  larry bird of college, he completely takes over. but his game is not suited for the nba, he is the definition of tweener. he will stick around because of his jumpshot. if you want to spend a lotto pick on mcdermotte role playing thats fine, but in such a deep draft you are so much better ith guys that pack potential like anderson, saric etc
