lmao dunno if it had anything to do with AD injury yesterday but im laughing. He’s been horrible for years and they SHOULD have traded AD to the lakers. I don’t expect the Lakers to offer the same package next year, in fact they already can’t offer Zubac anymore haha. Have fun enjoying Ainge not offering Tatum.

This could get intersting..let’s see if the Lakers, Rich Paul and Lebron try and buy the new GM.

Seems like just another butt-hurt Laker fan.

Demps has needed to go for years now, why it took so long is the real surprise to me.

I agree Demps has been terrible. Terrible drafting and trading..He’s been the GM for 9 years..

Overpaid for Solomon Hill, I woudn’t of gave Jrue Holiday no $20 mil plus, traded Buddy for Cousins and didnt’ try to re-sign Cousins. They have no assets now to make this team better.

He’s over his leg issues that plagued him early in his career, plus he’s one of the best 2-way guards in the game. He dominated Lillard last postseason, who was All-NBA 1st team. Dame shot 25/71 from the field against him in a sweep while Jrue on the other hand averaged 27ppg on 57% on his own that series. That’s big time…. and he’s only 28… still has several years of elite play in his future.

Pretty sure they offered Cousins 2-years $40 mil.

If Dell Demps had been even an adequate GM Anthony Davis may not have demanded to be dealt. Demps just doesn’t seem to have an eye for talent or a knack for making good deals.

I dont blame Demps for no one wanting to stay with the franchise. The Pels were really good last year, Cousins was not going to resign, given the discount he gave to join a ready made team.

To be honest, I’m sick of players pulling what Davis did. He’s got a contract for this year and next, and an opportunity to win. But with his statement, any chance of being good outside of nailing the draft for the next five years is out the window.

And this isnt about the Lakers. Theyre below 500 and out of the playoffs right now with Lebron. How good are those "pieces" they offered.

Doubt this has anything to do with not trading him to Lakers, it is probably the only thing he has done right.
But after rejecting the deal he refused to do damage control and left it all for Gentry.
Actually, if the ownership liked the Lakers deal they would have accepted it regardless of Demps, he can’t overrule ownership, feel that the decision to deny Lakers deal was from above and they just didn’t want to fire Demps during the whole sage.

I have always disliked him as he seems dumb and overpaid on so many players the Asik one is still the worst..He didn’t fit his deal was expiring what does he do? Reups him on an overpriced deal and I think surrendered a pick to move him..

     First strike on Demps:

He fired Monty to soon: A.D liked him and he got them to the playoffs when they were semi healthy..

    Second strike demps:

All those bad contracts handed out and drafting poorly+ average training staff players were always injured…

Final strike: Let cousins walk for nothing, traded hield who would have maybe done alright under gentry..Was unable to add anything in the offseason besides Randle and Jahlil(who is looking alright so far with normal minutes) Hence resulting in the A.D trade demands as he probably was like  you can’t build ish let me go to a legit contender…

GM wise though: It depends what you want to do with this team? Do you full rebuild or retool and go at it with what ever you get from the A.D trade..

Personally  I think if Ferry is their guy the Hit the Lakers up again over the celtics and take their deal for a re-tool not rebuild:

Ball better than Terry Rozier/smart and this would allow you to keep Jrue and play him as a SG.Worst case you flip Ball to the Suns for some picks and an average to good player: Mikal Bridges,Josh Jackson and TJ warren come to mind…

Taytum and Kuz do the exact same things accept Kuz can get you more points IMO both are shaky on defense..

Ingram better than Brown hands down..

Picks grizzlies pick could be ok(lottery at least),Clippers will probably keep their pick and Kings pick could be average if they make the playoffs instead of Lakers…

The Celtics may not even want to do this trade or give up much if Kyrie leaves..

However I could see Griffin(Cavs old Gm) getting a look as he has done a young talent for a big name deal before..Would be Funny if Thibs got the job though…

And I feel like he did some good things – for example the Jru Holiday trade & I realize that AD was the lock #1 pick in 2012 but people forget that AD was never considered as a player who could be a Great Offensive player

AD was thought of as a Great Defensive talent who would be adequate Offensively. AD’s first 3 seasons in the NBA he was an 11% 3pt shooter – that is Not a Typo – Demps & the NOLA coaching staff completely Rebuilt AD’s Jump shot & by year 4 AD was shooting the League Avg 35% from 3pt Range – is pretty Remarkable for a Big

AD was releasing his shot right in front of his Eyes so he could not track his target & this Destroyed his confidence. The Pels rebuilt AD’s shooting mechanics by raising his release point to above his eyes. This may sound simple but we’re talking about overcoming a Life time of Instinct & Muscle Memory & it took several years for AD to put it all together & develop the Confidence to not just function but Excel on the NBA level & what we see Markelle Fultz going through is a good example of just how hard it is to adjust shooting & take it from the practice court to the NBA court

I feel like Dempse & Nola deserve a Lot of credit for AD’s development & as a result I can understand why they were so frustrated & reluctant to hand AD over to LA. Just imagine putting yourself in that position.

It’s like we helped Develop AD into a Super Star, we finally had some Really important playoff success last year & now we have to start All over from scratch w/ Lakers players who need to develop & go thru the years of learning & adapting that All young players do & the Lakers are going to just take our guy & go compete for Titles & we’re supposed to just swallow that

I am a Hard Core Lakers fan so obviously I Desperately want AD in LA w/ Lebron but I do really try to look at things for multiple points of view & when I do it really explains people’s motivation & behavior so I really feel like Demps was in a tough spot

B/c add to that situation just how bad the NOLA ownership is – they are clearly not on the same page. The League threatens to fine NOLA if they play AD & Ownership buckles, plays AD & Dempse gets all the blame. There is NO way Dempse wanted to play AD & risk injury but he doesn’t own the team so he’s stuck.

Dempse has to be Sick AD got injured – especially now that AD ssays he Will go to Boston & Jason Tatum said he’s luv to get traded to NOLA so he can be the Star of his own team.

So yea Demps has made some bad decisions but he’s dealing w/ terrible ownership & he’s in a no win situation w/ the AD trade request b/c he’s going to get Crushed no matter what he does

But he admitted he never even took the Lakers seriously and engaged in talks because of it all being in the media. I mean if it was a bad deal ok, but to not even engage and see what you could get is crazy. Like you didn’t love all three of the Lakers guys, but why not see if a three team deal could work? Could you get 3 first round picks unprotected? A pick swap? The Lakers went crazy and to not even consider it is criminal.

The Celtics aren’t matching an all in offer. Danny will pick and choose, yet you won’t get Tatum, Brown, Williams, and all our good picks like the media is projecting. Heck I bet he pushes hard with no Tatum. Then if you want Tatum the rest of the over will be a lot less. Danny wins these deals every time.

Lets be honest. Hes been horrible. Cousins trade was terrible. Jrue holiday is the best running mate they gave AD. I don’t see how they deserve credit for ADs development, dude came in the league ready. Props to NOLA, im hoping Wizards fire Ernie soon
