Murray had a painful drive to the basket against the Rockets and it didn’t look good. Now his season is most likely endet and I really feel sorry for him and wish him a good recovery! This was supposed to be his biggest season so far and he truely came a long way and earned his spot on the infamous Spurs with All NBA Defense and steadily improved as a playmaker and the next stop should have been a better shooter.

What to expect from this team now and who can Mills really replace him at this stage of his career? The Spurs also lost Lonny Walker to a torn minuscus for at least the next 2 months.

Will Pop again defy all odds and bring this team into the playoffs? Thoughts

That blows so much, I was hoping Murray would take his game to the next level.

Wow thats terrible. He was doing and saying all the right things this summer too. This opens the door for Derrick White to finally get a decent oppurtunity.

Here are the guys I think are the best sleepers.  Please critique mine and let me know yours.

Isiah Thomas, Carnello Anthony, Jake Poettl, Markelle Fultz, Chandler Parsons, Jabari Parker, Trey Lyles,, Javale McGee, Kidd-Gilchrist, Herzonja and Kantner.

Sad news after he had such a good season last year and had become one of the very best young defensive backcourters in the NBA.

They may have to make a trade, I’m not sure you can depend on Mills & White to make any serious impact. Unless White turns out to be a diamond in the rough, Popp’s done it before.

I’m not sure who I feel more bad for, Murray or Pops. But they need to trade for someone. Maybe they can get Tony Parker back.

     back court

I learned a long time ago not to count out Popovich & the Spurs

But Murray is an All NBA Defense caliber perimeter Defender & it’s going to be a Huge hole in the Spurs Defensive system

Tough call if they can make playoffs

After losing ginobilli, Kyle Anderson, Parker and now Murray for the season, this roster is extremely thin on playmakers (guys who can beat their man off the dribble and create offense for themselves and others). They are going to have to lean extremely heavily on derozan and Aldridge to create offense, and are probably going to have to play at a pretty slow pace. I’d never doubt pop’s ability to somehow bring out the best in a roster, but this is going to be quite a challenge. They were really counting on Murray having a breakout season.

Pop will just use wings and get everyone sharing the ball. If he really needs aapoint, he’ll find one or turn someone into one. II have no doubt he’ll rotate the 10 main guys he has – Mills, Bellinelli, Forbes, DeRozan and Bertans and then Cunningham, Gay, Aldridge, Gasol and Poetl – and they’ll still win 50.

This is a huge blow to the Spurs defense. Add this to the losses of Green, Leonard and Anderson you have very little perimeter defense (Mills, DeRozan, Bellinelli). To make this worse you have Aldridge and Gasol who are slow defenders. I’m predicting Poelt is going to play a large role for the Spurs next year with his defense and hustle.

This sucks, we haven’t started the season yet this injury bug hits this team twice with walker and now murray, I would love to see derrick white and mills to step up, but mills is not a capable defender like murray and white not as long in terms of wigspan and his lateral quickness don’t match what murray brings to the table.
