The8thDeadlySinParticipantLillard had 35 points and 9 assists tonight.. He is the best rookie in the league by a long shot..

kingofbumsParticipanti wouldnt be too quick on it…rmbr what happened to tyreke after and what happened to cam newton this year….many of these outstanding rookies come up short of that the next season…which when you look at the large picture is attributed to the law of averages. Yes some players dont fit that bill ie. drose, irving, paul etc. but i just dont see that kind of game in him. i am not saying he wont be great or hes not good but ppl shooting be too too high on him yet…let it happen first

aarondsonixfanParticipantEven though I understand where you’re coming from, I think this case is different for Lillard. He played 3 (almost 4) seasons for Weber State, so I would say he is a lot more mature and polished than Tyreke was when he was a rookie. For that reason, I think he will have a great career. Don’t get me wrong, Tyreke had an AMAZING rookie year (one of only a handful of having 20, 5, and 5), but I think because he was one and one kind of hurt him in the long hall. Since Lillard has had really good experiences in college, I think that he will do better in the NBA

BigChamp12ParticipantCam is a stud… Put up very impressive numbers this year with only one true weapon at receiver

Sewok15ParticipantCarolina was also quietly one of the hottest teams in the league down the stretch. If he gets a couple more weapons I expect him to be a beast. Physically he is already elite he just needs more mental development which comes with experience and putting in film work.

stepback3ParticipantDamian Lillard is first NBA rookie to ever record 35 points, nine assists and no turnovers since turnovers became a stat in 1978-79 (Elias).

Sewok15ParticipantTyreke Evans dreams about having Damian Lillard’s jumpshot when he goes to sleep at night. A jumper is key to consistency on offense in the NBA. I don’t think Lillard will take a step back at all. He is playing great while many other rookies are hitting the wall. I expect him to average close to 20 points and 7 assists next year as Portland fights for a playoff spot. They need a bench upgrade because it isn’t a great idea to play your starters 40 minutes a night.
