I just find it shady the way he deals with seattle… PERSONALLY seeking investors to keep the team in Sac? “Here, invest in the kings, and I’ll make sure they get Andrew Wiggins and we will double your investment.” Personally I just find the credibility of the league damaged. He’s a little power tripping man, who somehow got pissed off at seattle and vowed to “never give them an NBA team again”. I’m not saying we should get the kings, but seattle is a basketball city, and it needs a basketball team. Stern’s power trip isn’t going to let that happen.

chall23Participantjust a quick question since you said you’re from Seattle. What team do you root for now? Do some people still root for OKC or maybe Portland? I live in Jersey so its basically you’re a sixers fan or a Knicks fan (Like myself)

RafterParticipantIf you believe in conspiracies, Sacramento haven’t won the lottery since 1989 despite having one of the worst records in recent years the Kings haven’t landed a top-three pick, in fact they’ve fell everytime since the 2009 draft lottery, they haven’t won more than 30 games since their 38 game winning 07-08 season yet they haven’t landed the top pick or the second or even the third? Let’s not go into detail about that infamous play-off series either. It sounds to me that Stern is obligated to say this to make it sound like he’s in touch with the fans and the city.

torontoraptors10ParticipantDavid Stern
LeBron left Cleveland – Cavaliers get Kyrie Irving
Abe Pollin passes away – Wizards get John Wall
New Orleans potentially could have been moved. What does Stern do? Make the Hornets/Pelicans a team that an owner would want to buy by giving them the 1st overall pick, which we know, they selected Anthony DavisNow if this trend continues… Expect the Kings to get a 1st pick this year or next year. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST (as long as Stern is the commissioner, actually I would expect the same thing with Adam Silver too)

llperezI understand as a Seattle fan why you are upset at stern over this, but I dont see anything wrong or conspiracy about it. The NBA puts certain demands on all cities when it comes to keeping a team which includes having an updated arena and solid financial backing. When the sonics left Seattle, the NBA had given the city of Seattle years to approve a new arena and they didn’t. So stern didn’t feel obligated to keep them there. With the kings, stern was ready and vocal about supporting a move to Seattle. However now the city of sac has stepped with the money and an approved arena deal that will open up years before a new arena In Seattle can be built. The commisioner has the right to demand certain things from a city and if the city steps up and delivers on all those demands, he should never push a team out of a city. First obligation should always be to keep teams where they are. Sac stepped up and Seattle didn’t at the time they lost the sonics. I do agree Seattle is clearly an NBA worthy city and now that thwy have the money and willingness to build a new arena hopefully they get a team soon.

samosasParticipantWiggins is going to the Raptors, everyone knows that. They’ll get the #1 pick and get the great Canadian. I thought this was common knowledge

mds0549ParticipantJust look at the Joe Smith contract to see how Stern runs the NBA. Yes Minny was caught and they were guilty but that was a massive penalty to pay and no team has ever been punished as much as they were. Then look at the 13 years in the lottery to see that they have never moved up even a single spot while teams like Orlando somehow landed the number one draft pick twice. I enjoy watching the NBA because it’s like WrestleMania, as long as you know there is more entertainment than ethics you can still have a good time.
