Here is the link to my new mock draft:

    http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_mock_drafts/45828/edit

    Feel free to critique it.

With the Wizards pick I assumed that their back court was set (Wall and Crawford) and they needed a versatile 3/4 guy.

With the Kings pick I have them taking a guy who will work best with Tyreke Evans and will help sell tickets and give the team some buzz.  I think the Kings take a guy who can give them some outside shooting and some all-around perimeter scoring, someone who will help take the scoring load off of Tyreke, Cousins, and Thornton.  The pick will help them form a deadly 3 guard rotation with the player being able to play with either Tyreke or Thornton.  Or they could play all three guys to form a great 3 guard lineup.  I am also assuming that Cousins is enough of a force inside and that Dalembert will continue to play at a decent level.  I also think that Hassan Whiteside can develop as a legit shot-blocking/dunking center.

At 8, the Cavs take someone who might be the best player available and who complements the number 2 pick.  At 6 and 12 the Jazz get two quality players who can help them with their weaknesses.

    What does everyone think?

I’ll say your top half of the 1st round is pretty solid but then you lost me with Skeen and Mack in bottom half. And then if I’m grading it you get a fat F for putting Ben Hansbrough before Tobias Harris, Jereme Richmond, Bebe Noguiera, Mirotic and Josh Selby. And your only doing it because you wanna pair the Hansbrough brothers? some people on this site man, smh….

You did that with Skeen from VCU to OKC at 24 because Maynor is from VCU as well. SMH.

Nogueira will not go 60 in the draft, i could see him late first to early second… Josh Smith at 58 I dont even think he declared for the draft… Ben Hansbrough way to high at 42… Mirotic to low at 43… Jamie Skeen in at 24 i don’t think so… what about Davis Bertans, Klay Thompson… Norris Cole also to low.

Tristan doesn’t make it past the Pacers, while Hanbrough has played great late in the season he is more of an energy  6th man type of the bench, they need to add some athleticisim and defense to the post. They won’t take a player who plays what is possibly their strongest position in Jones.

Why would Derrick Williams go to Minny?  They already have KLove and B-Easy

I like a lot of this, it’s pretty gutsy, especially Jimmer to the Kings at 5, even if I don’t totally agree with that haha. It’s good to see you have Kemba at 7, it seems many people don’t realize how perfect a fit that is. I don’t see Valanciunas falling to 14 but all these intl. prospects are very up in the air at this point. The wizards, after taking an undersized PF last year and a raw 6-9 PF/C both in the first rd I don’t know that they’ll go for Faried with their other first round pick, probably a swingman. Otherwise, good job.

    Tongue-out-like-23,

I like the Derrick Williams and Kevin Love pairing.  Those are two great guys to build around.  If they take Irving or another small guard then what do they do with Ricky Rubio?  I think that they should trade Beasley while his value is pretty high.  Not sure that he is athletic enough to be an elite small forward.  I also think that they need a good athlete next to Kevin Love.  I am also intrigued with the possibility of Anthony Randolph turning into a super-sub.  I think that Biyombo is too much of a reach at the first pick.  They can probably get a good draft pick and a couple of solid players for Beasley.  I think that Derrick Williams has more upside than Beasley…  Love/Williams/Randolph would be a very good (and versatile) forward rotation.  I can also see Williams and Randolph doing better with Rubio in more of an up-tempo pace.  Kevin Love’s rebounds and outlet passes can start the break, and then an alley-oop to Williams by Rubio can finish it.

    I’m just so offended,

I have Ben Hansbrough going to the Pacers because, yes he is Psycho T’s brother and a Notre Dame guy, but he is also a good shooter, had a great college career and will give the Pacers depth at point guard.  The Pacers need a guy who can hit the three and they already have enough swing men and a solid group of power forwards.  I also have them taking a power forward at 15 so no need for them to take a forward with the 42nd pick.  The draft express board has Hansbrough also going 42 to the Pacers.

I like Shelvin Mack.  He is probably a better pure scorer than Nolan Smith.  He can also hit three’s and was a winner in college.  I think he is a guy that can give you points off the bench either as a small two or a shoot-first point guard.  I think the T-Wolves can use him in a Microwave-type role off the bench.  If they trade Beasley then they could trade Flynn and still have depth at point guard (Rubio, Ridnour, Mack).  Or they could keep Flynn and shop Luke Ridnour.  The Mack pick goes with the thinking that Love and Williams are gonna be the two go to guys on offense, Darko will be the shot-blocker and enforcer, Rubio will be the playmaker, Randolph can be the big small forward/stretch four off the bench, Wes Johnson is a solid athlete at the 2 and a good complement to Williams and Rubio, and they need a good 3 point shooter/perimeter scorer.  I know they also have Martell Webster and Wayne Ellington, but Webster can move over to backup small forward, and having Shelvin Mack (who can play some point) in the backcourt could lessen the blow of trading Flynn.  Rubio, Johnson, Ridnour, Ellington, and Mack is a good five guard rotation.

Perhaps Jamie Skeen is too high, but I really like his game.  He had a great tournament which should count for something.  He is a big guy who can rebound some and he can hit the 3.  I think the Thunder are a great team and have a lot of promise for the future.  They have an awesome first option (Durant) and a great second option (Westbrook), plus a defensive center (Perkins), a very promising power forward (Ibaka), and  a solid sixth man in James Harden.  I thought that Jeff Green was solid for them, and I think they could use a forward who can do some of everything (rebound some and score some).  I think Jamie Skeen fits that role the best.  He would also be a great 3 point threat, maybe he could be the new Robert Horry.  The Thunder could also use a quality back up point guard, but they probably need a veteran point guard who can step in and play right away.  They could also use a back-up center but I don’t really see an ideal option at 24 for them.  If they don’t go with Skeen they might want to take a look at Travis Leslie, a great athlete who sounds a lot like Tony Allen.  He would be a great long-term replacement for Sefolosha.  He would also allow Harden to come off the bench.  What they Thunder needs is a legit 3rd option which would take some scoring pressure off of Durant and Westbrook.  I also think that Ibaka and Harden are better as your fourth and fifth options.  Not sure that they will find their 3rd option with the 24th pick, so I think they go with Skeen who can give them 8 to 10 points and 4-5 rebounds off the bench and a guy who can hit big shots.  If Skeen can give them 12 or 13 points then he would be a great fit if the Thunder decide to go small up front with Durant, Skeen, and Ibaka.  … I thought about Nolan Smith here but I am not sure that he is enough of an upgrade over Eric Maynor.  A smaller Westbrook/Nolan Smith back court sounds good, but I think both guys need the ball to be effective.  Shelvin Mack would be a good option at 24 for the Thunder, but I famously have him going at 20 to the T-Wolves.  Oh, I forgot I have Nolan Smith going to the Rockets at 23.  Keith Benson is another good option for the Thunder since they already have two good power forwards (ibaka, collison) and some good swing men in Durant, Harden, and Cook.

This is possibly the worst mock I have ever seen. I’m not even gonna comment on all that I think is wrong because it would just really embarrass you. One thing I do have to say though is this:

    • No way will Jimmer go top 5. If he does go top 5 then I will be shocked and amazed, but right away I will know that they are taking someone that isn’t worth it. The Kings can get more value for their pick. I think you are overrating Jimmer big time. To me he is barely a top 10 pick. Knight, Walker and Irving all deserve to be higher than he is.
    • No way Darius Morris goes 52. He is a late first to early second rounder. He wouldn’t even declare for the draft if his stok is that low.

And that doesn’t even begin to discuss some of the things that are seriously wrong with this mock. Adjust big time.

Sorry if this post was too harsh, but when I see something that is way off, I point it out. And sometimes you need to be frank and to the point to get your point across.

Fredette Knight and Kemba in the top seven, I dont think that’s of those are accuarate. However I have no clue what kind of players those guys will be at the nest level, I dont see fredrette going ahead of those two, and why to the kings? I dont see evans or cousins being estatic about a rookie hoisting up 30 foot shots.

No way does Jimmer go to the top five I think that Brandon Knight will go there before Jimmer.  Jimmer plays no defense.  I think if Kings can’t get Irving then Brandon Knight is the next choice and either is an upgrade to me over Udrih.
