BasketballGuru24ParticipantThe Hornets and Clippers have submitted a multi-player trade to the league office for approval that would include Chris Paul, according to a source.
The NBA wants the Clippers to add Eric Bledsoe to their offer, which already includes Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota’s 2012 first round pick.
The deal would be done if the NBA hadn’t asked for Bledsoe in addition to what is already been offered, according to a source.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Clippers are currently refusing to improve their offer and that the deal is currently dead.
A source says that talks could be restructured again, but that the Clippers are reluctant to meet the exorbitant asking price for Paul.
The NBA is now running the trade talks for the Hornets, ‘usurping’ the power of GM Dell Demps, according to Wojnarowski.
Man i feel bad for dell demps. He can’t even make a decision on trades. The hornets are being extremely greedy. Gordan, Al Fariq, Kaman, and a a first rounder that will likely be a top 5 pick is more then enough. Trying to force bledsoe is a very bad idea. They are making it seem like CP3 is michael jordan.0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/12/2011 - 9:41am #614541
IndianaBasketballParticipantDavid Mutumbo, I mean Stern is making the NBA look ridiculous right now.
It’s obvious at this point that his goal is to keep Chris Paul in NO until the team is sold.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantHe has been handcuffed in all negotiations. I feel for him as well, this is going to end badly.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantExpect the hornets to lose cp3 to free agency.

JoeWolf1Indiana, if you called him David Mutumbo because he’s wagging his finger "no" at CP3 trades, then that is the funniest thing I’ve heard today, lol.

What The DevilParticipantTwo very good trades Demps had going and Stern goes and messes it up…I wouldn’t be surprised if Demps resigned.

cuseflynn10ParticipantWhat are the chances the Hornets get a new owner and are able to resign Chris Paul? Honestly, if I’m a potential suitor to own the Hornets, I’d rather extra draft picks and young, blossoming players in Gordon or Bynum. I don’t see Chris Paul in New Orleans in 2012-2013. So why not trade him and get something for him now.
Let’s see. I’m interested in buying the Hornets. Would I want to see twenty-six year old Chris Paul (15.8 PPG, 9.8 APG, 2.4 SPG) walk away and sign for a contender and get nothing in return. Or I could get twenty-two year old Eric Gordon (22.3 PPG, 4.4 APG, 2.9 RPG) along with draft picks. It’s not even close. Eric Gordon provides more scoring, is four years younger, and can have a team built around him. David Stern is making the Hornets less appealing by keeping Chris Paul around, unless he can somehow trade Chris Paul for Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

TallmanNYCParticipantEric Gordon and Minnesota’s first round pick seems like enough to me for CP3. I’m not sure what the NBA is trying to do if it isn’t trying to just make CP3 leave as a free agent. Maybe that is the goal because then it cost CP3 $30 million and "teaches him a lesson".

aamir543Participant@CauseFlynn10, the reason that the league wants to keep Paul is so that some idiot billionare will buy them with some false hope of trying to keep Paul. If they l,ose Paul for even quality starters, the star power isn’t there, so the franchise won’t be worth as much

delfamParticipant^ the franchise is going to be worth even less when CP leaves and they get nothing. By trading Paul your making it more appealing to an owner to buy, not less.

dem313wayzParticipantthis is my first post on this site and i honestly feel there is something behind closed doors that the public doesnt know about. this is just my opinion, but i think stern has it set up to let CP3 play out the year in NO and he knows CP3 is gonna leave in free agency. This will then let the person who buys the Hornets for a considerably cheaper price and then the new owner is gonna moove the team to Las Vegas immediatly.
