Mr. ChicagoParticipantNBA:
Living: Bill Russell (I think it would be interesting to play for a player/coach – especially someone who has won 11 titles)
Dead: Red AuerbachNCAA;
Living: Coach K
Dead: Ray Meyer (really put Depaul basketball on the map, and kept hometown talent home)0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/05/2013 - 10:35am #760512
Professor RozayParticipantThis is a very hard question to answer. There are so many good coaches on all levels of basketball. I’m a coach myself and I take a little bit from a lot of coaches. But if I could play for one person it would have to have been coach Nolan Richardson. I just really like his style of play. Just watching what the players and what they said about him on that ESPN documentary mad me like him a lot. The one thing is that he mad those kids men. He was tough on them but he showed them that he loved them as well. They were a family and I would have loved to play for him.

ChewyParticipantAlive: Bill Self -He lets he guards go wild! Sherron-Tayshawn- EJ ect all were allowed to do whatever they wanted on offense.
Dead: Can’t go wrong with Wooden, but for me it’s Chuck Daily. If he could keep all those hard nosed guys in line in Detroit then you know that he knows how to command respect and it is always easy to play for someone you respect.

ReddinggsnParticipantMy College Choices would be Gene Keady or John Calipari and My NBA choices would have to be Rudy Tomjanovich and Lenny Wilkens

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantJohn Thompson, in that order. Shaka Smart and Brad Stevens also because I coach and I would think that those guys are going to be the next makers of great assistants. To play for any of those coaches would have to leave an great impression on you as a player and even more importantly as a person.
