No way he makes it to the 27th pick as he’s projected here.  Great defender.  NBA body (6’8 230, and looks he like he could be a  little taller).  Efficient 3-point shot that will continue to improve.  Been the best player on the floor against Tennessee in 2 straight matchups.  The gap between he and Deandre Hunter may not be as wide as people think.

I think he is a late 1st/early 2nd.  He reminds me of Noah Vonleh.  Strong athletic rebounder, developing jumper, can defend wings and posts.

I agree I think Deandre Hunter is projected really high right now as a top 5-10 pick. I think he will be a better pro than Okeke, but as you say the gap isn’t really big as I see Hunter as a Rondae Hollis Jefferson type player.  Great defender, slasher, good team player.

Rondae Hollis Jefferson is nowhere near the shooter that Deandre Hunter is. His slash is 53/46/78 this year. He’s not really just a "slasher" type.

Hunter is closer to a Jayson Tatum mold, top 10 draft pick for sure…

The main difference between both these players is consistency.

Okeke has all the tools but had a lot of bad games (seven games out of fifteen with 7pts or less between the start of the season and January 12). He has been much better after that with only one game with less than 10pts (9pts vs Alabama) but struglled once again in the SEC tournament with 4pts against South Carolina, 9pts on a low 4/11 FG against Florida and 18pts 13rbds against Tennessee.

In the same time, Hunter, who I confess was for me a top 15/20 pick until recently, had only two games under nine points for the whole season while shooting 45% from three and 53% from the field.

It may be a reach to select Hunter in the top 5/10 but he’s one of the only two-player which will bring the same immediate contribution both on offense and defense. Teams like Atlanta or, Memphis could use their pick to fill a need at the SF spot.
