aamir543ParticipantJust saw this on hoopshype, and it says that Chris Paul is recruiting JR Smith. I couldn’t find the link, but it was a headline on hoopshype.com.
If this si true, and JR does indeed sign with them, that would be great, because that moves Mo Williams back to the bench, and that gives them 9 quality players if you count Randy Foye, and Eric Bledsoe. They would have too many guards, but they would become even deeper, and even harder to keep up with.
The Clip scare me primarily because they have so many people that can score. Griffin, Paul, Butler, Williams, and Smith if he goes there. They would be an offensive heavyweight, but it reamains to be seen whther they’ll actaully get Smith, but I did find articles that say that Billups and Martin have recruited him, and on a sidenote Chauncey is set to have surgery on Wednesday, hopefully he comes back fully healthy next season.

Champzilla21ParticipantWell youe info is wrong Mo Williams is already on the bench and randy foye is starting but yes it will add great back court depth and someone who can create there own shot which the 2nd unit has a terrible time doing sometimes and he can single handly win you games some nites and shoot you out of them too but i think with people like paul griffin he will fall inline

HaleParticipantThat would definitely be an interesting pick up.

SupParticipantLolz, how are they affording all this?

F_DA_POParticipantIf he’s only playing a couple months he shouldn’t cost that much. Would be a great signing, people on here need to stop sleeping/hating on the clippers. They are going places and farther than the lakers in the playoffs

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis is totally believable especially considering Paul and Smith had a nice bond on the Hornets and Martin took the Chinese exodus with him tho they were on different teams I know Smith would probably like to link up with Martin and talk about their experiences in China and finally do it together in the big leagues.
I would love to see them pick up Smith and he fits perfectly into their system of high flying up and down the court basketball. Matter of fact he fits in with the Clippers as well as any shooting guard in the league does when you consider his skill set. He’s fast, jumps high, dunks hard, and hits 3’s.

sheltwon3ParticipantI hoping Melo can get him to come to New York. His firepower off the bench in Mike D’s offense would be crazy

NickWayne87ParticipantJR Smith needs to become a bull…..

Mr. 19134ParticipantJR Smith is leaving China tryna get away from Chinese people the last thing he wants to do is go to New York and play with more I them. I can already see his sister picking a fight with Lin’s parents in the crowd.
No but seriously the Knicks really don’t need another scorer I see no reason he’d want to play there.
The Bulls would be a nice fit too tho. I still think the Clippers are actually the best fit for him.

omphalosParticipantI’d love to see JR play for Jordan in Charlotte for the rest of this season, they are in desperate need of a scorer and he’d automatically become first option for this season.

orangeshadow83ParticipantI think his best fit would be the bulls but i think he is going to the Clippers. Him and Paul are good friends and he is an upgrade over Mo. If he went to the bulls though i think he would get more minutes and production.

IndianaBasketballParticipantClippers better be careful. JR Smith can be a chemistry killer.

Mr. 19134ParticipantNo I don’t think he get’s more minutes and production on the Bulls at all they already have Korver, Brewer, and Butler who play SG. The Clippers don’t even have an actual SG on their roster they’re all combo guards.
And I too would like to see JR go play in Charlotte especially after his experience being the Jordan of China I could see Smith averaging close to 30 for the rest of the year. He really could, it wouldn’t surprise me.

PulseGlazerParticipantHe’s join the Knicks because they can offer him 2.5 mil, while others can only offer him the minimum. He’s a better fit for the Clippers, but is a quite solid fit for the Knicks given how important shooting and floor spacing is to D’Antoni’s system.
