TyroberParticipantIf toronto gets off to a rough start which im guessing they wont. they are definitely making the playoffs this year but lets just pretend they dont and bosh gets traded.
Thunder get Bosh
Raps get Krstic, Jeff Green, Thabolosefa, and PHXs 2010 firstRaps get there center allowing Bargs to be a PF
Jeff green would be amazing off the bench behind bargs and hedo
thab would be a pretty good two guard allowing derozan to grow
2010 will be a pretty stacked draft even in the 10-15 rangeand of course Thunder get a allstar in Bosh who would fit in perfectly with this young lineup.

TyroberParticipantAlso what free agents do you see going to the thunder next year? they’ll have the best young core in basketball w/ lots of cap so Bosh could end up there without trading JF

td8118ParticipantThat would be pretty cool if they picked up Bosh in FA…That trade doesnt seem like it would fit in Prestis general direction….The best thing about the Thunder is that they are building a complete team ala Blazers in that they have no real needs rather just needing to give their core time to develop together into a winner

McWinningParticipantno way hes their best player you cant afford to get rid of him. that trade would hurt them because they wouldnt have a number one option. Bargs is good but i dont think he will ever be extremly good.

tli232Why this trade sucks:
1. The Raptors have already filled out their roster at this point. Therefore, barring a trade where the Raptors somehow trade away more players than they receive, this trade seems very unlikely to happen as teams are wary of buying out players in this economy.
2. Salaries would not match up (For this trade to go down, the Raptors need to acquire at lest about $2 million more in incoming contracts)
3. For the Salaries to match up, the Raptors would need to receive one more player from the Thunder, which makes it a 4 for 1 trade. This means that the Raptors must release 3 players from their roster, and in this economy, that does not look too likely.
4. Krstic has a player option next year for around 5.5 million. If you’ve been paying any attention to how much players are getting paid nowadays, you’d realize that Kristic will be hard pressed to get that much based on his recent play. Hence, it looks likely that Krstic will pick up that option. This leaves Toronto in an awkward position as not only is Krstic a soft, jump shooting, post player in the exact mold of Bargnani, the Raps may have to have him for the next year too, even though it looks like he’ll be behind Reggie Evans and Amir Johnson on the depth chart, leaving him around 10 minutes max per game. Any time a team’s paying a player 5+ million to play >10 minutes, they’d be pissed.
5. Should Toronto want to get rid of Bosh around deadline time, they’d definitely want to get instant cap flexibility to sign a solid wing or Proven Big man. Only if the raptors have nearly all of Bosh’s returning contracts expire this season will they be able to sign a big name like Manu or Johnson.
6. Green would not be able to get much playing time in Toronto because they’re loaded with good depth at the forward spots after Bargnani and Turkoglu: Wright, Evans, Amir Johnson, and now, Sefalosha and Krstic. I’m guessing each of those players are going to get at least 5 minutes a game, after Bargnani and Turk take up 35 minutes each game. That leaves… 26 minutes at the forward spots between 6 players (including Green), 2 of whom are proven veterans.
Thoughts?

TyroberParticipantdid anybody actually read the first thing i said? this trade is 99.9% never going to happen. period. i was simply stating it helps both teams. bargs gets to be PF. Krstic is a decent starting center and is not overpaid. Jeff Green is going to be a stud. and the Raps would be a future player with a top 10 pick this year. but again it was a hypothetical situation. chris bosh is more than likely going to sign a max extension after the season with the raps
