OldSkoolBasketballParticipantAfter the game the only guys I see shaking hands with the heat were Doc Rivers and Ray Allen. People made a big deal when Lebron didn’t shake anyone hand after the Orlando series a few years ago but this is probably won’t be notice.

Lotto StudParticipantI don’t have a twitter, but if I did I would tweet them that statement you just made for a 1st & 10 topic of discussion.
If they take twitter questions can someone please tweet them about this?

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantI didn’t see it, and I have no idea the type of mental intensity it takes to play in an NBA game, but I think there are times when not shaking hands after a game is fine. If the winning team is huddled and celebrating, or celebrating with the crowd, it has to be near impossible to sit, watch, wait, then come over and shake right? ?
If the winning team is making an effort to shake hands then I think it would be wrong to walk off after losing. I wouldn’t be surprised to never see KG shake hands after a game though. . .

sbealer22ParticipantI think his point is that if the Heat would have lost and LeBron would have not shook the Celtics hands, he would have gotten ripped like he did in the Orlando series. A double standard if you will.

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantIt comes with the celebrity though. The more celebrity the more scrutinized, but also the more praised. It’s nothing new, it exists with celebrities of all sorts, not just athletes. LBJ is probably the biggest celebrity in sports right now and he’s made himself into a "villain" over the years.
It’s all an assumption right now whether or not the Celtics will be ripped on for not shaking hands, but if they are called out, KG will get talked about more than Glen Davis, or even Rondo, because he is the leader of that team. If Davis were the only person that didn’t shake hands would the media even find it worth mentioning? No because nobody watching/reading/listening would care.

Scottoant93ParticipantHey if they are going to complain about lebron doing something then they better get on the celtics or any other player who doesn’t shake hands

FastAndFuriousParticipantDelonte West shook hands, even with Lebron

Moon RiverParticipantI caught that too and it certainly looked like Lebron and West have come to a mutual understanding of whatever happened between West and Mama Lebron.
As far as shaking hands. I did not see it as an outright snub by most of the Celts. I saw it more as they were on the road and did not feel like sticking around on the Heat’s home court to watch them celebrate. Wade was off milking another spill into the crowd and Lebron was taking a moment to himself to take it all in. To me, it was a bunch of pandering by Wade and Lebron and I wouldn’t stick around for that either. Just the way Lebron stared into the crowd and reacted after hitting the last two 3’s and the look over his shoulder on the break away dunk screams "look at me" and I could do without it.

BiggysmallsParticipantIf the game wouldve ended like a normal game this could be something. But Lebron was sitting on the floor. Is anybody going to go shake his hand while the whole Heat team is all around him, and half the crowd is all around him. Nobody would get to him anyways. Even if they tried, knowing the Heat bench, they wouldve been jackasses as usual.

LawDeeZeeParticipanti hate this petty stuff, i stuck up for lebron last year when he didn’t do it … for kobe against the suns … those guys care, they’re frustrated, upset, emotional … i want that from the guy i’m paying – too many guys shake hands, say good luck the rest of the way, and maybe we’ll get you next year … i like a guy who feels the pain of losing and let’s it burn, i just think too much is made of this handshake thing, so insignificant in the big scheme of things – these guys are professionals, it’s not little league, get over it!
