BasterdInABasketParticipantI was just checking Lebron James numbers through his career and this is what I found:
Cavs in games that Lebron didnt play…
09-10: 1-5
08-09: 0-1
07-08: 0-7 (1-13 in last 3 years after Finals appearance)
06-07: 3-1
05-06: 3-0
04-05: 1-1
03-04: 2-1 (10-3 in first 4 years)
This team hasnt had any type of identity other than making Lebron do everything since they made it to the Finals and theyre learning it the hard way this year. These numbers definitley mean something and should have been a warning sign to them that they built a $hi+ team and they have a team full of role players and should-be DLeaguers.

marcusfizer21ParticipantThe biggest mistake for the Cavs was that they focus too much on making LeBron happy… surround some scrappy guys around that could compliment him instead of trying to add the best player possible for them. Drafting scrubs in 2004 and trading their draft picks in 2005 didn’t help at all also and it came back to haunt them… 2004 would have been a good time to find them a LeBron sidekick ala Pippen/Stockton… They owned the 10th pick and yet they drafted an overrated college guy in Luke Jackson who I know from the start isn’t going to be more than a bench player on any NBA team.

llperezi knew they would suck but figured they would be competitive but losing parker, west and verajao took away what little defense they had left.

marcusfizer21ParticipantThat would be a buzz all over the world… The Cavs made the obvious choice McDunkin… I’m just saying that they could have had JR Smith, Josh Smith, Al Jefferson or even Jameer Nelson…
They also gave up their 13th pick in 2005 wherein they could have gotten a guy liek Danny Granger for that matter..
LeBron lacks someone that could be his tag team partner all the way… Mo Williams is just not it…

NYK2010ParticipantWrong the biggest mistake the Cavs made was giving overrated guys big money.
Larry Hughes, Big Z, Daniel Gibson, Varajeo all were signed to bad long term contracts the first 3 really hurt.
Trading for Mo Williams and Antoine Jamison seemed like a short term fix but in the long term haven’t worked out.
Then they just went on trying to win and thought Lebron would stay if they got tried to plug in some holes.
They should’ve known they wouldn’t win a title when Orlando beat them in 2009 and then Orlando lost in 5 games to the Lakers.
Anthony Parker and Antwan Jamison are no where near as good as Wade and Bosh.
Don’t forget about guys like Haslem, Mike Miller when healthy they can still help the Heat maybe not this year but they still have something left. The Cavs lone young player with potential is J.J. Hickson and funny how no team is really after him that hard.
The team is 2 years away from real cap relief and they don’t have any real stud young players to build the team around.

HitsterParticipantAssuming their pick isw likely to be top 5 at least this summer then they can add another young piece and start rebuilding around him,Hickson and Eyenga. They have traded away a lot of picks especially during LeBron’s earlier years and their FA rebuilding wasn’t great either.
They don’t have additional first round picks until 2013, so the best way might be to try and generate them maybe by taking on a few salary dumpsor even dangling their 31st pick this year for a first rounder for this year or in the future as contenders like high 2nd round none guaranteed picks.
