I would like to see him make the USA Mens Basketball Team for 2010….I think he is the “right” player you want to add to your core team… Durants definitely going to make the team but if I could add 1 more it would be him, I know Gay played great in the invitational but give me players over athletes for International play

Isn’t like…Redd going to be out, maybe replace Wade, he’ll be around age 32, J-Kidd goes back.No Boozer either right, I think there will be a good amount of spots available…

I wonder if he will be able to humble himself. He’s already made reference that he needs that ball in his hands and he doesn’t play well without the ball. Both of those are issues, especially when you got point guards like Chris Paul and Deron Williams. If he can get his head right, he’s the perfect type of player for the Olympic Squad because of his versatility and all around ability.

Another center would help, maybe Andrew Bynum or Brooke Lopez. Howard was their only center on roster in 08.

I heard his comments…I dont know if your taking his quotes of of context, he just said that it has been a tough adjustment for him and Andre Miller because both like the ball in their hands…I dont know if thats someone being difficult rather then someone astutely pointing out his strengths

He basically said he’d rather play with Blake. I don’t know about you or anyone else, but I want to play with the best guys that you can surround me with even if that means me having to change some things in my game. The one thing that Team USA has worked on is not only having great players but guys that fit as a team. This is where a guy like Redd is valuable, even if he’s primarily just used as a guy to create spacing. The team is going to need guys that play without the ball.

I agree with the Bynum or Lopez comment. They probably need at least two other guys to play center behind Howard and they will probably need a third pg, since I doubt Kidd will be back for that one. That spot won’t be hard to fill with young guys like Rose, Wall, Westbrook, Rondo, etc coming up. I think a couple of defensive minded players would be a good addition as well. Maybe a guy like Trevor Ariza. Not a star player, but he knows how to play a role and he should be a pretty nice player by then.

brandon roy is slipping to me. I believe that andre igoudala possesses the same talents but doesnt get 1/2 the notoriety that brandon does…perhaps its because hes on a bad team

The people I think will return to the team:
    PG’s Paul and Williams
    SG’s Kobe and Wade
    SF’s Lebron and Melo
    PF’s Bosh
    C’s Howard

    That leaves 4 spots.

I don’t think Kidd, Redd, Prince will return. I think Boozer is borderline.

Players I would consider or want

Durant will be on the team.
    Brandon Roy
    Andrew Bynum
    Brook Lopez
    Rudy Gay
    Al jefferson
    Amare
I dont think they need another Pg with that current roster.

If i was picking up players I’ll have to consider the following.

    CP3 – Position at PG
Kobe – Defensive Stopper, go to player – SG/SF
    James – All Around player – SF/PF
    Melo – Scorer – PF/SF
Howard – Shot Blocker and Rebounder – C
DWill – Back up PG able to play off the ball. PG/SG
Wade – Backing up Kobe at SG and a Defensive stopper at the perimeter.
Durant – Backing up James and Melo at SF/PF
Bosh – able to play PF and Center making the team able to play big and small ball.
    Bynum – Backing up Howard
Rose – Put on the team for the future.
Aldrige – Bosh type player for the future.

Reason for picking up Rose, Durant, Aldrige, and Bynum is because their the Future of the team. These are the only position with playing time to spare for the young furture.

PG – CP3, Dwill and Rose (James)
SG – Kobe, Wade (Dwill and James)
SF – James, Durant (Melo, Kobe and Wade)
PF- Melo, Bosh, and Aldrige (James and Durant)
C – Howard, Bynum, (Bosh, Aldrige) ***James***

Playing small and fast, we’ve seen the following line up against team without dominate Bigs.
CP3, Wade, Kobe, Melo and James

    Big line up
James, Kobe, Melo, Bosh and Howard

I like Roy but I don’t see him getting any PT because the team already has two SG guards who take up most of the minutes and DWills picking up the rest.

Why would you choose Rose over the other young point guards?
Others as worthy if not more:
Westbrook: He is basically same as Rose but can play defense and is looking just as good as last year and not slumping like Rose.
Rondo: Rondo knows what it takes to be a winner and plays defense unlike many point guards. He can get the scorers the ball in the right spots.
Harris: He can get to the lane well and can also spread the floor with his shot, and is also as fast as Rose.

Wall could also be consider but have see how he plays against the pros.
