Lotto StudParticipantWe never know when Kobe Bryant will once and for all, decide to toss the laces over the power lines, because he has that dog fight in him. Eventually, we will see the time come, but until then I would like to take a look into the future of what should come after. I’m not too sure of what Nike has in store for "Kicks After Kobe" but he needs his own Brand tied in with Swoosh like his predecessor Michael Jordan.
Currently there are two guys in the league with great marketability in keeping his legacy going on the floor. Nick ‘Swaggy P’ Young & DeMar DeRozan both have Los Angeles ties, which will drawback a strong cult for both the East/West Coast markets. As is, Young showcases the exclusives before anyone if Mamba himself cannot lace ’em up and get out there on the floor, and DeRozan has been spoon-feeding us all with his Fan Designs.
I see big things to come, if Kobe decides to lock these two guys up early with his Brand. If anything, the most logical thing to do, would be to keep Young going with that Purple & Gold. DeRozan would bring in more revenue, due to the Raptors popular colorway anticipation.

Lotto StudParticipantI understand to a degree, but look at how all the sneakers from the ’90s are resurfacing now. Penny’s signature line is just as big now than before. What has he done for the game in regards to the popularity of his line?
Sneakers will be sneakers, and fans will be fans.

benny15Participanti think in 10 or 20 years, having a vintage Kobe pair of shoes would be really nice, but in no way do i think it would deserve its own brand like what nike does with Team Jordan. your example of Penny shoes would be a good peg of how to do it with Kobe, i just dont know or think that Kobe’s brand will transcend generations that way MJ’s has

Lotto StudParticipant"i just dont know or think that Kobe’s brand will transcend generations that way MJ’s has"
There’s nothing to it, then to Just Do It!
Nike will not hurt at all. Kobe has a strong sneaker following, and it shows throughout all of his signature I.D. kicks, ranging from the local gym all the way to the professional floor.
Many may have a personal vendetta against his character for emulating MJ, but this will heighten the legacy of Kobe for the generation that will never have the chance to witness what most of us have had the pleasure to with his career.
"We" never really appreciate a good thing until it’s too late or gone. For me to say that. It takes a lot of willpower, because I had a strong dislike for him throughout his career until his 2008 Finals run.

Magic JordanParticipantDid you really say Nick Young and Demae Derozan have Kobe’s marketability? What NBA do you watch?

Lotto StudParticipant- Reassess your aim.
- Are you even a supporter of the sneaker cult?
- Where have you been?
- Revert back to #1
Have a stress-free productive day ahead of you, Magic Jordan.

Magic JordanParticipantMy aim has been reassessed. I am not part of the sneaker cult, and if I was, would I then think Nick Young is as marketable as Kobe? I doubt it. So I guess the better question would have been, is that true in the sneaker world? I didn’t realize that sneakerheads like Nick Young sold shoes, I thought good basketball players did. I would love for some elaboration from someone who is in the cult. It would help my day.

Lotto StudParticipantAnother young up-and-comer to throw in the mix could possibly be Zach LaVine.
