I was surprised to not see a topic on this, if there was one that I missed I apologize, but it’s an interesting story.

The Suns apparently are shopping Bledsoe as they prefer Knight. The Knicks are a possible for EBled along with the Suns #13 pick for the #4. (This comes from Chad Ford and SLAM). Put the ridiculousness of the Suns failure to utilize Dragic, Bledsoe and Thomas effectively to the side for now, is this something the Knicks should consider?

Or should the Knicks focus on rebuilding with Mudiay, maybe Russell or Okafor if they slip? I could care less about Bledsoe fitting into the triangle, which he absolutely doesn’t, and more about if he’s someone you can build your franchise around. The possibility of Bledose, Carmelo and Myles Turner/Lyles/Dekker is intriguing, but is also settling in a way. The high risk high reward move would be to draft Mudiay and wait for a big name FA in 2016.

Phoenix maybe trying to tank. There’s no other way to explain there recent transactions. Bledsoe is not even close to reaching his potential yet they want to trade him for the 4th pick of this draft and a guy who may potential reach Bledsoes floor. If they add the 13th pick someone’s gotta lose their job.

"Potential is Bledsoe floor". I’m assumming you are talking about Mudiay. Mudiay have a much higher ceiling than Bledsoe given than Mudiay is 6’5.5" 209 pounds with a 6’10" wingspan and to top it all off he have elite explosive ability. His ceiling exeeds Bledsoe

I love this potential deal for Brandon Knight’s security to have a "final destination" at last (Free at last!). As a clear-cut case for the Suns’ track record for overstocking to release backcourt players, we all would be naive to not believe Eric Bledsoe’s number would not be shopped sooner or later, even if he is the ideal PG for possessing that bulldog stature aka Mini LeBron.

Phoenix has one if not the best backcourt philosophies in the league when it comes down to placing two point guards on the floor at the same time. The problem is log-jamming the position with too much ammunition on standby.

        —————

Real quick question for those who like this move favoring Phoenix:

How much does this improve the Suns overall value by pairing both Brandon Knight and Emmanuel Mudiay as the 1-2 punch?

Also, what does this move mean for a developing guy such as Archie Goodwin who is patiently awaiting his big breakout from acquiring the bust tag?

If I’m the Knicks, to get Bledsoe and let’s say Trey Lyles or Myles Turner for Mudiay. I make that trade.

It will take a top 5 pick to acquire Bledsoe. I just dont see a PG in this draft class that will be better than Bledsoe.

Wonder if the Wolves would have interest in working on anything? Not sure if they have the right pieces as the 1 will be off the table, along with Wiggy and LaVine but I know they had interest in Bledsoe last summer. I’d take him over Rubio given he’s younger and more explosive. Less of a true PG but he also would give the team a lot of athleticism.

As much as I love Lavine, I wouldn’t say he’s off the table, just it would take a lot to get him. I mean, say he reaches his potential, can Minny afford he, Wiggins, KAT and Rubio in 3 years? If you believe Bledsoe is truly a top notch pg, I’ll give up Lavine for him if Phx offered. A core of Wiggins-Bledsoe-KAT is a great core to build around. Rubio, and his contract, can then be moved. Again, I’m not advocating that they put Lavine on the block, but I wouldn’t say he’s off the table if Bledsoe is available.

Certainly much more than either of the teams he’s played for seem to (which probably should tell you something). You know, it’s so strange because, usually for a player to be this overrated around here, he has to be on the Celtics.

    At any rate …

Should the Knicks? Absolutely not. IMO, Russell, Mudiay, Porzingis and Hezonja all have higher upsides (both on and off the court) than Bledsoe. The only advantage he has is a safer floor.

Would the Knicks? Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure the answer is yes. Using the same reasoning Dgtool2 used. But it would be a big mistake.

He’s just scratching the surface of his talent and the Wolves should stay the course and build around LaVine, Wiggins and hopefully Towns.

You just have to wonder, what’s the Suns game plan?  Their moves make you scratch your head.

If I were the Knicks, I’d be all over that trade.

The Knicks are working out 6’6″ point guard Daniel Hackett from USC. He is a big lefty point and has been playing in Italy since going undrafted in 2009. Hopefully this means that Phil isn’t looking to move back and add Bledsoe or Lawson.
