They had a espn article the other day that had all the scouts at the combine to rate the top 13 pg’s in order. The biggest surprise was that Jennings was ranked 7th. Also you do not include Holiday in your top 10? The scouts ranked him 4th.

    My list:

    1Rubio
    2Holiday
    3Jennings
    4Flynn
    5Curry
    6Teague
    7Maynor
    8Mills
    9Lawson
    10Collison

Please tell me what you guys are making these rankings based off??? Because S. Curry played PG for one year, Johnny Flynn is turnover prone Brandon Jennings has nothing but athletisicm, and some Rucker Park passing ability. How on Earth could Ty Lawson not be in the top 3 consistantly!?!?!? The guy protects the ball on every possesion, is lighting quick, and with out him The Tar Heels wouldn’t have won the NCAA title

    1. Ricky Rubio
    2. Ty Lawson
    3. Johnny Flynn
    4. Brandon Jennings
    5. Stephen Curry
    6. Eric Maynor
    7. Patty Mills
    8. Jeff Teague
    9. Darren Collison
    10. Jrue Holiday

I think it’s funny how everyone ranks Ricky Rubio as the top point guard when nobody has REALLY seen him play. I mean, all we have are articles written by other people & youtube videos. Oh… & the two games vs. Team USA during the Olympics. That isn’t enough for me to rank him as the best point guard. This sounds JUST like the Darko Milicic situation. This type of stupid logic is what made Detroit take Milicic over DWAYNE WADE, CARMELO ANTHONY & CHRIS BOSH. Think about that for a second & re-read those three names I just mentioned.

I admit that most of my stock in Rubio is based on having seen very little of him(mostly the olympics) as well what the professionals say. But you can’t just throw the Darko situation out there and act like that settles it. How about when the Bucks traded Nowitzky for the “college proven” all american Tractor Traylor? Or how about mentioning the success of Gasol or Ginobli or Tony Parker?

Rubio was the starting pg for a very legit Spain national team at 18 years old, the same national team that Sergio Rodriguez did’nt make the cut for. He handled the presure of playing on the biggest stage against the USA team. Playing professionaly in Europe is tougher competition then playing in college in America. Also, it should be mentioned that this is a draft class where outside of Blake Griffin, there are no sure things. When you look at how much success guys in college had you have to take into consideration their potential and not just what they did in college. That’s why guys like Mateen Cleaves and Tyus Edney don’t really have great careers.

I think Rubio and Curry are COMPLETELY different types of players. Curry fits into some schemes, and he doesn’t fit into others. Rubio will be asked to distribute the ball a lot more than to score. And on the flip side Curry will be asked to score a lot more than he will be asked to distribute.

I’m saying that it’s not enough for me to rank him as the best point guard at this point in time. I’m not saying that he’ll turn into a bust like Darko Milicic did. I’m not saying that he won’t become a good NBA point guard. I mean, he could be the best point guard in this class. I’m just saying that everyone is high on him based on word of mouth & hear say JUST like they were on Milicic. I’m saying that I don’t know ANYTHING about this kid because I haven’t seen him w/ my own two eyes… I believe most people haven’t.

There is no sure way to tell which players will be extremely successful in the NBA & which ones won’t. There are so many factors involved. It’s about timing & opportunity. A lot of times, it’s hit & miss. However, it’s just hard for me to rank a player as the best at his position when I haven’t seen him play enough. I have problems w/ that. Based on his credentials, I would rank him as a top five point guard, but I can’t say he’s better than a Stephen Curry, Johnny Flynn or Ty Lawson. I’ve seen those guys’ strengths AND weaknesses… Rubio… I’ve just seen a bunch of his greatest youtube highlights & read articles by guys who are already in love w/ him or just going by hear say themselves.

    1. Maynor
    2. Flynn
    3. Rubio
    4. Jennings
    5. Price(reminds me of chauncey billups)
    6. Teague
    7. Mills
    8. Calathes(i think he is better than this spot and better than he gets credit for)
    9. Collison
    10. Douglas
    11. Lawson

no steph curry because he is really a shooting guard. I got lawson so low because his game is so one dimensional to me and I don’t think he will translate good to the nba with no shot off the dribble. I didn’t include beaubois because i just never seen him play tho he probably can play.don’t hate its just a guess and none of use is probably right, but leave a comment 8=======D———-

Maybe if you capitalized Horrible or added a few more question marks I would realize that your opinion is correct and mine is clearly absurd. Holiday has more potential then Flynn in my book. I do think very highly of Flynn and ranked him near the top. But I truly believe Holiday has the potential to be a serious difference maker while I think Flynn is more likely to be just very solid. It’s debatable either way, thus, I won’t tell you your opinion is horrible.

How can anyone have him in the top 5? What exactly has he done to prove that he should be a top 5 PG?

    Id say

    1. Rubio
    2. Flynn
    3. Curry
    4. Maynor
    5. Jennings (could be higher)
    6. Teague
    7. Mills
    8. Calathes
    9. Lawson
    10. Douglas
    11. Collison
    12. Price
    13. Holiday

I want to know what reasoning people are using to say jennings is so good. He barely plays in Euro and has poor shooting %, At least rubio played well in the olympic, with injuries, .Also Curry is not a PG so dont compare him to others.

actually i wouldnt call averaging 4pts 3 ast and 2 turnovers while shooting a bad percentage well…and you do make a good point about jennings..which also could be a point to a lesser extent about rubio..he also didnt set the leauge in spain on fire
