ProximoParticipantGotta agree, Dunn’s the best overall defender. Probably has the best hands too. Gary Payton II is worthy of mention.
Patrick McCaw(UNLV) is definetly one of the best at jumping passing lanes, Dunn’s great at that too.
Hassan Martin(URI) has gotta be the best wing sized player at getting blocks that I’ve seen so far this year, 6’7" Freshman, Kassoum Yakwe (St. Johns) looks like he might be able to give him a run for that title though.. Derrick Jones(UNLV) Jordon Varnado(Troy) are freshman worthy of mention here too..
As for true rim protectors, there’s no Robert Upshaw this season, At this point, I’m actually gonna bring up UCF’s Tacko Fall(UCF) – he’s been prolific in his limited minutes. It’s tough to differentiate what blocks he should and shouldn’t get to being so much bigger than the competition — He gets more than your standard big guy blocks though, I’m sure of that. He’s an NBA player IMO and draftable — Much better prospect than Satnam Singh..

YungmUNyParticipantSpeaking of guys from Purdue, Rapheal Davis is probably the best defender in the Big 10. He just came back from injury, but he was a shut-down guy last season.

Hype MachineI’ll go with the Mitten as well. Great to see another Payton in the NBA…as he will surely get signed on a cheap contract somewhere.
Wonder if he talks as much trash as the glove lol.

IlladelphParticipantAJ Hammons has highest defensive win shares in NCAA. Ben Simmons most rebounds. Kris Dunn top 3 in steals, and top 5 in assists. Caleb Swanigan is a glass cleaner and high in defensive win shares as well.
I like Kris Dunn the best. The guy is just a beast on defense. Makes his whole team better. Plus he distributes the ball like a champ. Hard to say if he would have these stats on a stacked Kentucky/Duke/Kansas/Arizona team, but damn. For me, it’s Kris Dunn all day long. The guy is just fun to watch him play. What a little thief. I hope he statys healthy and goes top 5 next June. Poor guy will probably play so well, he’ll wind up in Philly.
