    3 possible Beal deals –

-To Memphis for Chandler Parsons and an unprotected first

Why? Wiz save $20mil and get a first round pick. Grizz go all in to try win now.

    – To Orlando for Fournier and Vucevic

Why? Wiz get to capable starters to stay competitive. Magic get value for Vucevic before his contract is up.

    – To Phoenix for Ryan Anderson and Josh Jackson.

Why? Suns get a Booker/Beal backcourt, Wiz save $20mil by Anderson’s contract ending one year earlier than Beal’s, but also get back Jackson as Beals replacement

All these work in the ESPN trade machine

    Thoughts?

Don’t like these? So, where does he go?

I would love to see Bradley Beal in Memphis. They have been lacking in the backcourt for quite a few years now, to miss on pairing up a solid mate with Mike Conley in a slower paced system. Beal will not have to overly-exert himself in this system, as he does in Washington, which will help out the supporting cast in many areas on the floor.

But I think talks end as soon as Washington asks for Jaren Jackson Jr in return. Memphis shouldn’t include him in the deal, and Washington has a perfectly justifiable reason to demand him. Bradley Beal is an excellent player, and even though he may not be top 15 in the league, the portable nature of his game makes him a high commodity for dozens of teams.

So if he’s a commodity for a lot of teams, while under contract for 2+ years, he should fetch a sh*t ton back in a trade.

I think Beal would be a lot of fun in Memphis, but there’s no way a deal would ever happen 1-to-1 between these two franchises.

Beal is the only player that has a high value right now on the Wizards.. I don’t like any of these trades, they’re not gonna just give him up.. Maybe they could get the Lakers to bite at the deadline if they panic and get a Brandon Ingram and another young player or expiring deal. All these trades are bad IMO. .

I don’t really like any of those options from Washington’s standpoint.

The Memphis trade doesn’t bring back enough value, I’m sure they could get more than a non lottery pick and salary dump.

The magic trade doesn’t make the wizards any better so I don’t really see why they would be interested in that deal.

The Phoenix deal would only make sense if Washington decided to blow up the roster and start a rebuild and even then the suns would have to sweeten the pot with either another young player or draft picks.

Sure, he’s getting paid a lot of money now. But in my opinion he is earning it.

He’s Washington’s most valuable asset, and I think each deal you propose would / should be rejected by Washington. They will likely be looking for something in the realm of what Boston traded to receive Ray Allen in 2007.

    Top 5 pick (Jeff Green)

Young up & coming player on rookie contract (Delonte West)

Proven rotation player / veteran presence (Wally Szerbiak)

Good to hear the feedback. I wouldn’t be rushing in as the Wiz faced with these, the deals don’t really do it for me either. But, they are the most realistic deals I could come up with looking at current rosters and situations. If the gossip is true and he is to be moved, I’d like to hear what’s being considered, because I couldn’t find a deal if be happy with if I supported the Wiz.

You’re severely underestimating Beal’s value. He has 2 full years left on his deal after this one. If they do decide to trade him now, they’d get peak return…which would include a talented young player (lottery pick) still on his rookie deal + another good young guy or a 1st round pick, AND salary cap relief. The deals you proposed don’t offer any combination of that.

I’m not underestimating his value. I think he’s worth more. I’m saying realistically they won’t get more though, from what I can see anyway. Please have a look at other teams and tell me what the Wiz can get for him.

What return do you think they will get and from who?

If that’s the case then I think the Wiz would just keep him.

Name me one all-star in the last 5 years that’s got traded where the team had to take back bad long-term salary from unproductive players (Anderson, Parsons) like these deals you proposed? Let alone one that has multiple years left on his deal at a fair $ amount.

If they go forward with trading Beal it’s to ease the luxury tax hit they’re bound to take once John Wall’s deal kicks in next year, and get quality young pieces on cheap deals. Not add to it with people who won’t even be in the rotation. Otherwise they’d just keep him.

THE MAIN REASON WHY THEY WON’T GET FULL VALUE FOR BRADLEY BEAL

    – These NBA owners are like little kids walking into a candy shop – they just love to spend all their money straight away on the first thing they see and like.

Most teams are right up there in salary cap.  The competing playoff teams who would want Beal are all right up there in salary.  If Washington deal him they are going to want young players and/or draft picks (lottery)

Even though this is Beal’s 7th year in the league, he’s still only 25. That’s 1 of the pluses in acquiring him for the Lakers, another is he has made over 100 threes for 5 straight seasons that’s an area they need help. And he’ll be that consistent 2nd scorer Lebron needs. Even though Lebron and Lakers management say they’re going to be patience, at some point that patience will wear thin after the Loses start piling up.  Lebron almost went off earlier in the season, but contained his emotions. How much longer will that happen?

Hi Wiz, I’m the Spurs. I wouldn’t have thought we had anything to offer you for Bradley Beal, but if you are considering some of the going-out-of-business sales mentioned above … can I interest you in Pau Gasol’s expiring contract, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV and our first-round pick (top-10 protected or so)?

That’s probably better than anything else they’d get. No one is gonna give you an all star back for him cos everyone wants a team of at least three, and virtually no one will give away more than one potential lottery pick these days because of how badly the Nets got raped
